Typically, Lancashire got into a good position to win their bottom-of-the-table match with Kent, but stuffed it and got a draw instead.

It is looking like a Division 2 Championship Roses match, or 2 next season if that is any consolation.
Unlikely for Lancashire to gain promotion, & a strong chance of Yorkshire getting relegated.

Lancashire scored a first win at the expense of 2nd place Derbyshire (!)

After making it 2 wins in 2 last week, Lancs returned to losing ways, but hey, only a game, innit?

Div 2 has thrown up a few surprises, not many would've picked Leicestershire & Glamorgan in the promotion positions.

The race for the Division 1 title is reaching an exciting conclusion with Surrey holding a one point lead over Nottinghamshire. The two side meet at The Oval in the penultimate round on Monday where a victory for either side could prove decisive.
This fixture will be shown live on Sky Sports Cricket over the 4 days.

Lancashire managed to avoid defeat to bottom side Kent, but with matches running out, there's still a bit to play for. Not promotion, clearly, but...

Leicestershire secured Division 1 promotion last week, it has been 22 years since they last played in the top division.

Mathematically only Kent in last place are out of the promotion race, realistically Glamorgan in 2nd place have a 27 point over Derbyshire in 3rd. The Welsh county require a maximum of 21 points to gain promotion with 2 remaining rounds of games.

The Surrey v Nottinghamshire clash is the only match that has started today. Notts reached 75-1 at Lunch after being asked to bat. Atkinson removed Notts skipper Hameed for 9, well caught at 2nd slip by Pope after Sibley had shelled a chance earlier of the same bowler. Slater 36 no & McCann 28 not out have added 50 runs, the bowling has been accurate without looking particularly threatening.
