I wonder now just how big a mistake Israel has committed in it's incidents with UN peace keepers who have been an ever present force in Lebanon since '77 (I think). The UN probably needs to put it's foot down and force Israel to keep out of areas where it's troops are stationed, but I think the real clash will come if Israeli forces accidentally shoot one dead & I don't think Netanyanhu will likely apologise for it happening as he probably feels the UN are "standing in the way of Israeli forces offensives". Getting the UN to agree to move forces is a different thing altogether in country of Lebanon's size probably is a logistical nightmare for the UN in itself.

With Israel now having killed the leader of Heabollah we must wonder if Iran will strike back harder in retaliation to his death, or are we likely to see an end in sight to Israel's wars in both Gaza & Lebanon. I do get the feeling Netanyahou by by any stretch isn't likely to come out iof this smelling of roses.

The South Korean President has gone completely mental and imposed Martial Law, claiming that the opposition party has been infiltrate by North Korea. Parliament has convened and voted 190-0 (not a full house) to end Martial Law immediately and at the moment it doesn't like like the Police & Military are willing to enforce it.
The President is said to be currently in his official residence. It's just coming up on 0140 in Seoul....things may get interesting in a few hours when people wake up to this shit show!

How many of you had North Korea being the sensible, stable one of the two on your christmas bingo cards?
The yanks have around 30000 troops stationed in South Korea, so if the martial law had gone through that would have been awkward for them.
The whole thing seems a proper shit-show, the pres is using North Korea as an excuse to quash opposition, but it has opened up deep divisions within his own party.
Who knows, it could be a foreshadowing of the sort of things to come in Trumps america

I'd wager a totally unstable Korea on BOTH sides of the border would be a very dangerous animal to tame, and those American troops will be caught right in the middle if things ever were to kick off.

Imagine Keir Starmer facing impeachment (i'm not sure it eixists in our constition - it probably does but not like it is in USA or Korea), what's happening in S. Korea has to be a cause for concern for Asia and wider world.
