Yep, especially after saying they want a "high wage economy" which surely means people earning enough so they don't have to claim welfare to top up their wage and/or go to foodbanks

^ I don't think you need to apologise to anyone. You work part-time and get a bit of help to make things easier, that is surely what the "Welfare State" was designed to do...help people to help themselves.

What are you apologising for? My point was that employers are getting away with paying wages that are not sufficient to provide a living and they know that the Government will step in to support the employee. These same companies are often making large profits themselves.

The safety net should always be there for people in need. We do need to rebalance things though
