RE: Chelsea FC - Phonebook - 21-04-2014 10:04 Biased Tony Cascarino on SSN this morning, still sick about the Chelsea result. For example Chelsea lost to Sunderland and Liverpool then went on to beat Norwich, Chelsea lost to Palace and Liverpool went on to beat Spurs, Chelsea lost to Villa and Liverpool went on to beat Man Utd. Right there, 9 points lost to Liverpool from defeats that supposedly "aren't as bad a blow" as losing to a direct rival. It's not a matter of points. If Chelsea lost 2 matches, to Sunderland and to Tottenham, the loss to Tottenham would be a bigger blow. Your argument that each defeat is equal (because they both mean a loss of 3 points) may be a logical one in the cold light of day, but football isn't only about logic. Take the case of some Everton fans, who are saying that they hope they lose when they play Man City in a couple of weeks, because giving City the points might stop Liverpool winning the league - and they don't mind if the defeat costs Everton a Champions League place! Where's the logic in that? RE: Chelsea FC - cosmonaut - 23-04-2014 17:05 (19-04-2014 20:21 )dominar rygel xvi Wrote: what team are Chelsea going to play at Anfield next week? I suspect it will be a much changed one. Football can be perverse. I predict that Chelsea will play a much changed team at Liverpool and still get something out of the game, then play their full strength side against Athletic Madrid and not get the result they want. RE: Chelsea FC - terence - 23-04-2014 17:20 looks like chelsea are getting hit with 3 f.a charges. Do the charges relate to his comments about fielding a weakened team Sunday? RE: Chelsea FC - DAFM80 - 23-04-2014 20:02 No, surprisingly enough Mourinho is being charged with saying the referee had a fantastic game. I didn't know you could be charged for being sarcastic. RE: Chelsea FC - William H Bonney - 23-04-2014 21:00 The FA are doing Chelsea a favour, as charges against Mourinho at this time are a reminder of his controversial reputation and should be enough to put off Man Utd from trying to poach him. RE: Chelsea FC - lovebabes56 - 24-04-2014 07:06 I have to say DAF that Jose probably will find it laughable they levelled a charge at him at all. I do expect Ramires to get a normal 3 match ban but if they make it more serious, they probably could ban him form the champions league final if Chelsea reach it, but at the same time I wonder why the Sunderland player wasn't booked or charged with acting to get an opponent sent off because in some respects you must wonder if any contact with him was made and to my eye there was minimal contact, but yes Ramires did strike out. RE: Chelsea FC - mr mystery - 24-04-2014 19:15 Ramires has been given a 4 match ban for violent conduct . RE: Chelsea FC - cosmonaut - 24-04-2014 21:14 Chelsea were quick to get that dealt with. Ramires had until Monday to reply to the charge, but admitted to it immediately, thereby getting banned from Sunday's match at Liverpool - which he wouldn't have played in anyway. So some smart thinking by Chelsea has got the ban which will carry over to next season for Ramires down from 2 matches to only 1. |
