Could you imagine if Mohammed Salah had gone down in the box for Liverpool like Sterling in the semi-final of The FA, the English would be going thermonuclear RE: UEFA European Championship 2021 - Stemmw - 08-07-2021 19:01 (08-07-2021 16:54 )southsidestu Wrote: Could you imagine if Mohammed Salah had gone down in the box for Liverpool like Sterling in the semi-final of The FA, the English would be going thermonuclear Don't really need to imagine. Happened in the premier league constantly, Salah, Mane, Fernandes are "divers who go down easy under minimal contact", Kane, Sterling and Vardy are "clever when they invite contact" ![]() Gary Neville said on Sky today it was never a penalty but he doesn't care. Come the first few weeks of the new league season everyone who doesn't care now will certainly be back to caring immensely about the game being ruined blah blah blah. I remember a good few years ago Ian Wright praised Steven Gerrard for diving to win a penalty for England in a qualifier. (Almost) Nobody, fans or pundits, really and truly care so long as they're team gets the benefit of an awful decision and/or cheating. RE: UEFA European Championship 2021 - dominar rygel xvi - 08-07-2021 22:07 I think Gareth Southgate's done a great job. I really admire the work he's done with England. Of course it was never a penalty, so he got lucky there, but Denmark are a good side, currently ranked 7th in Europe, so it was never going to be an easy game. Gareth had already joined Sir Alf Ramsey as the only England mangers to reach 2 semi-finals and now they are also the only England managers to reach a tournament final. RE: UEFA European Championship 2021 - Goodfella3041 - 08-07-2021 22:34 Can’t believe that on the night England win a major tournament semi-final … I was in Scotland for work. There was not a lot of singing in the streets. The lads did a job. Southgate has been fantastic since the day he was appointed — 2018 included. He has really built something special. I never thought I’d find myself admiring an England team for their composure, organisation, defensive solidity, and possession play. But the way they bossed the midfield, kept their calm, passed the ball around, and lowered the tempo after they scored that second goal nearly had me in tears. I’m just gonna go ahead and start calling him Sir Gareth. RE: UEFA European Championship 2021 - lovebabes56 - 09-07-2021 07:36 Manager/Coach award & Team of the Year at BBC SPOTY I guess are obvious targets if we don't win Lol Csn't see any team coming close if we win it. RE: UEFA European Championship 2021 - Regenerated - 09-07-2021 12:19 ^^ If we win, it's a no-brainer... if we lose, well I guess they'll have to give the foreign team award (if there is one, haven't watched that show for three years lol) to Italy ![]() RE: UEFA European Championship 2021 - Tumble_Drier - 09-07-2021 16:39 (08-07-2021 22:34 )Goodfella3041 Wrote: Can’t believe that on the night England win a major tournament semi-final … I was in Scotland for work. It can't be easy supporting 5 different teams in 3 weeks and not seeing a single win. RE: UEFA European Championship 2021 - Kingsmind - 09-07-2021 17:18 Looking back on the game i feel sorry for Denmark i mean the fans booed there anthem, fireworks went off and worse of all the fans put a laser in Schmeichel's eye during the pen and all this after the Eriksen incident i think it's disgusting. I mean to be honest with you i wanted Denmark to win the tournament as much as i wanted England to finally reach a final i was in 2 minds with that game really. RE: UEFA European Championship 2021 - SecretAgent - 09-07-2021 17:26 ^ None of those things should have happened but come on keep it in context - go to Italy and they will boo the opposing teams anthem and I'm of the view that such action only winds the opposing team up rather than hurts them in any way. Fireworks did not even get noticed during the game and I've seen flares set off by the Ultras of Lazio and other clubs across Europe The laser pen was serious although if you watch Schmeichal he didn't seem aware of it at the time. Whoever did it should be found and jailed but it certainly didn't make him let the penalty in did it.
