RE: What TV show did you last watch? - Doddle - 15-01-2020 20:22 Hugh Grant - A Life on Screen Sadly (though unsurprisingly) no mention of either Lair of the White Worm or his Dr Who turn on Comic Relief, but he's a decent cove, and the reason Richard Curtis makes so much money. Er... RE: What TV show did you last watch? - *Kal-El* - 16-01-2020 04:50 Crisis On Infinite Earths (Arrow) Part 4 That massive cameo jaw hits the floor. RE: What TV show did you last watch? - Doddle - 16-01-2020 15:30 The Two Ronnies - Unseen Supposedly never-before-shown skits from their Australian series. They did explain that some scenes were just redos of ones they did over here (all of them seemed that way), but no mention that it was all part of a tax dodge. RE: What TV show did you last watch? - GMach1 - 17-01-2020 18:12 Recorded(E4)-Star Trek: Discovery ep2 looking good for a hell of a series this. RE: What TV show did you last watch? - Doddle - 17-01-2020 21:48 Martin's Close Somewhat dreary ghost story from Christmas, marred by not having much in the way of a resolution. RE: What TV show did you last watch? - GMach1 - 17-01-2020 22:00 BBC1 Fridays The Goes Wrong Show. Created by Mischief Theatre, this series is just so good, with everything going wrong as in the title-this week a horror show of a horror story with effects failing or coming too late, sets falling apart or bits falling off and in this episode some talking in sentences with adjectives(as according to the presenter they ran short by 3mins the last time ) Some good stunt work and some jokes you can see coming a mile, but it is good, clean, wholesome family silliness and always laugh-out-loud funny. RE: What TV show did you last watch? - GMach1 - 18-01-2020 01:55 Two: BBC1 2.15pm weekdays Father Brown(based on the GK Chesterton novels) played by Mark Williams - another superb series(set after the First World War) comes to a close with two past police inspectors brought back to investigate an old murder case now re-opened. Great locations used, sparkling dialogue and very clever murders committed-so much so it is not easy to work out how they were done and by whom. Another recurring character returned, the jewel and antiquities thief, Hercule Flambeau(John Light) for one episode(which he does each series) Williams who has been in The Fast Show and the Harry Potter films is perfect in this role which he has made his own. All series episodes are now available to watch on BBC iPlayer. Recording New series of an old favourite CRACKERJACK! 6pm CBBC. This originally went out at 4.55pm and started in 1955 in black and white with Eamonn Andrews, then taken over by various presenters(names to follow) but now it has been brought back with two presenters Sam Nixon and Mark Rhoads(more talent than Ant and smegging Dec anyday) and in the first programme had veterans of the original Crackerjack(Don McLean, Jan Hunt, Bernie Clifton, Basil Brush and Stu 'oooh I could crush a grape' Francis. As usual there was mess, gunge, madness and an updated version of Double or Drop(created by Eamonn Andrews) where you answer a question correctly and win a prize(which in those days you had to hold) but get it wrong and you got a cabbage-drop any prizes or 3 cabbages and you were out. Every kid that took part won a Crackerjack pencil or later a pen. These have also been brought back only supersized! Some names you might remember, some sadly no longer with us Michael Aspel, Ed 'Stewpot' Stewart, Peter Glaze. (This was also the show that a 12yr old John Bercow went on-he of course would go on to become Mr Speaker!) Interesting to note that the 80's theme tune created by Chas & Dave has also been resurrected by Sam and Mark. CRACKERJACK!!! |
