Beckham was also a big part of helping London gain the 2012 Olympics; along with being part of the opening ceremony too...
Perhaps there is some hidden reason he's not been knighted; like those who seem to have forgotten about Ken Dodd's 'tax issues' while asking how it took him so long to gain the gong?

Murray is through to the semi finals of the Qatar Open as preparations for the first major of the year in Melbourne continue. After beating Nicolas Almagro 7-6 (7-4) 7-5 the Scot will now face Tomas Berdych in the last four.

In the semi finals Murray saw off Tomas Berdych 6-3 6-4.
He will play who else but Novak Djokovic in the final after the Serb beat Fernando Verdasco 4-6 7-6 (11-9) 6-3 in the other semi final.
Verdasco wasted 5 match points in ultimately succumbing to defeat.

Suddenly he's probably beginning to find out just what it is like to be world No.1 and certainly Djokovic will find that win a huge boost with Melbourne not very far away
