It was an entertaining watch mate...I wasnt gonna watch it originally but it was a war!!!

Yeah like astonv1 said it was an entertaining fight from a domestic audience point of view. But from an mma point, Watson got his tactics all wrong, Reid is a Kickboxer not an mma fighter, Watson did exactly what he shouldn't have done & stand straight infront of him with a low guard & got picked off with basic stomp kicks & jabs for 2 rounds. personally i didn't think he was as far ahead as the judges had it, credit to Reid for goin 5 rounds as he was fucked after the first 2 but Watson should've put him away on at least 2 occasions.
As for those commentators... Garbage !!!.... Bob SappBounce

UFC 119

C.B. Dollaway v Joe Doerksen-Sub F57 W45 L2 Subs33, now thats some cool shit!!!

Sean Sherk v Evan Dunham-50/50 on a UD
Chris Lytle v Matt Serra-UD
Antônio Rogério Nogueira v Ryan Bader-50/50 as Lil Nog's on a KO streak, but Bader is rising
Mirko Cro Cop v Frank Mir-Sub hope i'm wrong but i think UFC wise Cro Cop isn't quite there???

It's been a long time Ducky, sound like training's goin well.Smile

RE: UFC - hitmeuptop - 26-09-2010 02:55

i know im going to get bullied in ere lol but i do watch ufc when i can be arsed and certain ppls are on the fight card, i was wondering were forrest griffins at ? he was one of the first fighters i saw and because he post match interviews were hilarious. come to think of it there's a few thats fucked off, arlovski as he quit ? and i remember evan tennar aswell the dosey twonk lol. YNWA

RE: UFC - HEX!T - 26-09-2010 07:32

arlovski is in strikeforce, his management wouldn't let him fight in the ufc incase he got beat. basically they wanted more money and easy opponents, dana white said GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY OFFICE!... Arlovski will make his K-1 debut at K-1 World Grand Prix 2010 in Seoul Final 16 on October 2, 2010.
forest is on a break since he ko'd chuck.
chuck i think has retired as he is getting ko'd to easily now. you just gotta tap his chin and he falls over, which is a side effect of being ko'd to many times very hard.

evan tanner is dead im afraid.. he died sept 8 2008

Tanner had purchased a dirt bike, and on September 3, 2008 he rode into the desert region north of Brawley, California to go camping. According to Tanner's manager John Hayner, Tanner called that afternoon to say that his bike had run out of gas, and that he would accordingly walk back to his camp. Temperatures that day reached 118 °F (48 °C), and friends became concerned and reported Tanner missing after he failed to contact them. His body was discovered by a Marine helicopter on September 8, 2008.MORE INFO? CLICK HERE!.

RE: UFC - HEX!T - 26-09-2010 12:46

just watching the fights now, so far im only disappointed with serra's fight. (but give credit to serra he showed none of his previous arrogance) not the same guy that went up against bj or huges.
guillard v stephens was an ok fight but guillard didn't bring all his tools with an almost predictable result.

looking forward to mir v cro cop... after dinner Smile

UPDATE: well it was a boring fight, but a good finish.

RE: UFC - mitchell - 27-09-2010 02:30

Sorry for the late post chaps, i know you've all been waiting with baited breath for my customary post event analysisWink i've just got a new Sky box & it's
pre-set in auto standby mode so it turned itself off at 4am so i had to wait till 23:00 tonight to see the last 3 fights.

Melvin Guillard v Jeremy Stephens: Dana's pre show fight of the night pick, 2 guys that where supposed to go at it from the off which Stephens obviously did but Guillard had different ideas. Now working with Greg Jackson & it showed with a perfect in & out game plan, not the best as far as some fans go but effective to gain a win.
Matt Mitrione v Joey Beltran: This was gonna be the stand up fight of the night until Beltran felt the power of Mitrione & decided to try for the take down even though he didn't know how, which made it partially a stop start fight, in my opinion both these fighters are just YouTube fighters who will always fall short against a good opponent.
C.B. Dollaway v Joe Doerksen: What a performance from Dollaway, especially against someone with 33 submission victories, when he got the guillotine he bided his time well. 4/5 years ago this would've brought a hale of boos from the crowd but it was obvious he was putting a plan into action & the now well versed crowd knew it & what followed was a perfect throwback to some crazy Royce Gracie shit!!! & one of the best ends to a ground fights i've ever seen.
Sean Sherk v Evan Dunham: Sherk is a tough son of a.. He's never been submitted & now we know why, to get out of those guillotines takes some doin, that said he gave up his head very easy, this was an even fight goin into the last round. Unfortunately this is when my Sky box turned itself off so my DVD stopped tapingannoyed & i didn't get back till 23:05 tonight so i haven't seen the last round.
Antônio Rogério Nogueira v Ryan Bader: This wasn't a great fight, Bader couldn't get any rhythm & Nogueira didn't try to mix up his game & therefore suffered a few half take downs which were enough for a Bader decision.
Frank Mir v Mirko Cro Cop: The less said the better, although i'm disappointed with the KO as i wanted to see how the judges would've called it.

Overall i though Dollaway apart it was a pretty poor night.

UFC 119
Preliminary card:
Matt Mitrione v Joey Beltran-KO...annoyed
C.B. Dollaway v Joe Doerksen-Sub F57 W45 L2 Subs33, now that's some cool shit!!!...annoyed Don't mind bein wrong on this one
Main card:
Melvin Guillard v Jeremy Stephens-Someones gettin KO'd...Huh
Sean Sherk v Evan Dunham-50/50 on a UD... split decision, UD same shit!
Chris Lytle v Matt Serra-UD..annoyed Right call wrong fighterRolleyes
Antônio Rogério Nogueira v Ryan Bader-50/50 as Lil Nog's on a KO streak, but Bader is rising...Big Grin
Mirko Cro Cop v Frank Mir-Sub hope i'm wrong but i think UFC wise Cro Cop isn't quite there???...Smile KO, sub.. a wins a win!!!

Fighters were awarded $70,000 bonuses.
Fights of the Night: Sean Sherk v Evan Dunham and Matt Mitrione v Joey BeltranHuh

RE: UFC - mitchell - 27-09-2010 21:07

Frank Mir:
Style, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing, Kenpo Karate
Ranks, black belt in Kenpo Karate, black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Years active 2001–present
MMA record
Total 19
Wins 14
Knockout 3
Submission 8
Decision 2
Disqualification 1
Losses 5
Knockout 5
Submission 0
No contests 0

He's still only 31 but with the talent he's got he should be the undisputed champion. If you don't go for it... Well no one's safe when ruthless Dana's around. I've gotta say i think this an instinctive on the night reaction to a poor event, that said if he does it then every fighter in the organization will be shitting themselves, & half with good reason!!!

RE: UFC - cainan - 27-09-2010 22:52

I kept saying to my dad that i wouldnt be suprised if Alex Reid won against Tom Watson but i knew Alex would gas before the 3rd so i wa sleft happy. WHAT A WAR, credit to both men. Proper fighters spirit and they wear there hearts on their sleeves.

Poor Cro Cop. Expected him to lose but not like that.

RE: UFC - Regenerated - 27-09-2010 23:11

Bloody hell... literally.....Surprised Now that was a war to end all wars.... its a wonder one of them didn't get killed... Reid was brave but a mixed martial artist like Watson is always going to have more moves at his disposal. Reid's too restricted to one style.
