2nd Test South Africa v Australia at Port Elizabeth.

Australia unchanged from the 1st Test,South Africa pick Elgar,de Koch & Parnell with Alviro Petersen,Robin Peterson & McLaren missing out.
South Africa won the toss & elected to bat, after the early loss of Smith & Amla to Harris & Johnson,Elgar 83 & FAF du Plessis 55 put on a century partnership.

They closed on 214-5 after bad light curtailed the day with A B de Villiers 51 not out,he now holds the record of 12 consecutive Tests with a score of 50+ & passed 7000 Test Match runs.

Bad light meant that Australia were forced to bowl there spinners,so a new ball will be taken on Day 2.

Just to add, a little, to the above McLaren left out as he was still suffering from concussion from being hit on the head by Johnson in the first test. Be interesting to see if the SA middle order can fair any better than the England blokes against the new ball.

It could have been better for South Africa as catches went down with both Warner & Nightwatchman Lyon given lives.
