RE: England's cricket tour to South Africa - Ree's No.1 fan - 07-01-2010 16:06 Another nail biting finish with England holding on for a draw with 9 wickets down after (usual) dramatic collapse in the last hour. Great grinding effort by Collingwood and Bell and final resistance by Swann and Onions who saw off Morkel in the last over. Well we can't lose the series but it was close! RE: England's cricket tour to South Africa - setter1000 - 12-01-2010 00:02 Its good that we prove we can hold on when we on the rack but we have to stop these self inflicted scape's we get our selves into. For the match to go from being a bore draw to a one sided one is very worrying indeed. Lets hope they come back rejuvenated in the knowledge they cant play as badly. They must go out to win the last match. If they go into the match to cautious they are just as likely to throw wickets away then if they went in all guns blazing RE: England's cricket tour to South Africa - rocksaviour - 12-01-2010 00:20 Talk is that Parnell will come in for De Wet for the final test seeing as De Wet won't be able to play and has been send home by Arthur this week. Unlucky for SA with Tahir, he hasn't just qualified yet as the papers haven't gone through would of been interesting on their part to see him come in for Harris for the final test. Fingers crossed we can win this one. Weather will be a factor possibly this time round as well. RE: England's cricket tour to South Africa - setter1000 - 12-01-2010 00:27 I'm amazed Parnell was not in from the start. I think his inclusion could be very good for SA bad for us RE: England's cricket tour to South Africa - rocksaviour - 12-01-2010 01:16 Yeah I rate Parnell from what I've seen from the one day cricket that he has been in, taking his age into account and everything he is a top bowler and yes means bad for us if he is on fire, not sure how much cricket he has been playing recently domestically in SA. RE: England's cricket tour to South Africa - 654321 - 12-01-2010 10:25 Wooohooo, who'd hav thort it, 3 matches gone n us 1-0 up!! mind u, it helps when the opposition have been so poor! lol. But as the old saying goes, u can only beat wots in front of u, n that only means more ranking points for us lol. N the way the Aussies are performing against mediocre opposition, playing badly, but stil winning, dare i suggest the Ashes will stil b in our possession come feb 2011? re: parnell, he's not reli got gr8 stats in 1st class cricket, sure he's a promising limited overs bowler, but there's a huge difference between test cricket. He's stil a young 'un n got time to develop his maturity. I'm hoping they bring bk Ntini! lol p.s u may wana check out Ian Chappell the whinging Aussie cos of his team being knocked of his perch! lol. The Aussies know they're time's up, its now the world's collective job to kick em whilst they're down! lol http://www.cricinfo.com/india/content/current/story/443658.html RE: England's cricket tour to South Africa - rocksaviour - 12-01-2010 14:57 Will give Ian's writing some reading time later. For a send-off they should bring Ntini in just for this test and then have him retire and go and play for Middlesex under the kolpak ruling which will mean he can't play international cricket anyway. Plus if he is off the boil that'll be great. Had the Wanderers groundsman on earlier and he basically said he can't produce a pitch to sort the hosts, since we have the same sort of bowlers in both sides. Can not wait for Thursday to come, have some warm weather that is miles different and better than what is outside here. RE: England's cricket tour to South Africa - 654321 - 14-01-2010 14:14 well well well, that was a pretty poor effort from the batters. Shot selection was poor.....over to u jimmy to rescue us again RE: England's cricket tour to South Africa - birdlime - 14-01-2010 16:56 4th test Day 1 Johannesburg England 180 all out of 47.5 overs South Africa 29/0 off 12 overs England were an absloute shambles with the bat today getting bowled out for less then 50 overs but its only day 1 and they is lots of cricket to be played. RE: England's cricket tour to South Africa - sweetsugar007 - 14-01-2010 17:07 To be fair it was swinging miles today and Prince and Smith found it hard work out there against our boys. However definitely think it was more of an Onions "pitch it up wicket" rather than Sidebottom lets hope he swings it one. Pietersen seriously overated batsman no intelligence at all and jury out on Jonathan Trott. |
