RE: LIVERPOOL for sale - cosmonaut - 08-06-2010 21:18 Well Rafa Benitez wasn't out of work for long. He's going to be appointed Inter coach tomorrow. RE: LIVERPOOL for sale - groundnpound - 08-06-2010 21:39 Would love to see Kenny back in charge RE: LIVERPOOL for sale - mitchell - 09-06-2010 20:19 (08-06-2010 21:39 )groundnpound Wrote: Would love to see Kenny back in charge Sorry old chum we agree on a lot over in the UFC thread but we`re gonna have to cross swords on this one. If king Kenny wanted to be a football manager he wouldn`t have been out of work for the past 10 years, he played & managed Liverpool & Celtic, he has theoretically only managed 2 clubs of his own managerial accord Blackburn & Newcastle, if he was a career manager he would be in a job by now like Roy Keane, Paul Ince even Tony Adams is out in Azerbaijan. We need someone who will be around for 5,6,7+ years all these 60+ managers are a bit old for that, Liverpool need on the pitch at least some long term stability, as much as i`d love to see Roy Hodgson at Anfield i think Manuel Pallegrini is a better option, although i think we could get Kenny back for 1 season & then go for Mourinho from Real, i just don`t see Jose & Real being a good match. RE: LIVERPOOL for sale - Chilly - 12-06-2010 14:49 Hats off to Rafa. He guaranteed that he'd be managing a team in the Champions League, and he's been true to his word. RE: LIVERPOOL for sale - groundnpound - 14-06-2010 17:44 Kenny isnt a career manager, he loves the game and loves Liverpool and he knows the situation were in just now.. He knows the respect the players have for him especially Stevie,Carra and Nando. We love him. It would be on a short term basis im sure but he knows he can guide us through until we get new owners. If they then wanna get theyre own manager in then fair play..Preferably Mourinho for the long haul... Don't want Hodgson or Pellegrini no chance! Can u imagine Stevie and Nando if 1 of them 2 is appointed!! I want the King in charge if not then Harry Redknapp RE: LIVERPOOL for sale - sweetsugar007 - 14-06-2010 18:03 I am not sure where I stand on this one. The team needs so much surgery my concern over someone like Kenny is he may not have enough knowledge of players out there to do the job.Granted he plays the game the right way but he also throws his toys out the pram when the going gets tough. Someone mentioned Martin Jol earlier I actually don't think thats a bad shout. RE: LIVERPOOL for sale - groundnpound - 14-06-2010 18:09 We need someone with a bit of passion now, someone that can stand up and say whats on his mind like fergie does Dalglish would be able to give the players something that no other man could Belief that we can be champions next year Trust me mate RE: LIVERPOOL for sale - scoopz - 14-06-2010 18:13 (14-06-2010 18:03 )sweetsugar007 Wrote: Someone mentioned Martin Jol earlier I actually don't think thats a bad shout. A Dutch manager and Dirk kuyt...nah we don't need that RE: LIVERPOOL for sale - mitchell - 14-06-2010 19:23 I met Kenny at Anfield last season & yeah he`s a top jock, i`m just as if not more passionate as the next red but he`s no longer a football manager, we need someone who is up to date with the latest scouting reports & unknown players, Rafa had been watching Elijero Elia at Hamburg with view to a £10m bid, he came on for Holland today & changed the game i don`t know if the king would be aware of this kind of player (who will now be linked with a £25m move to Man City) remember Houllier signing Sami Hyypia for about £2.6m, allegedly we`ve only got £15m to spend so we`re not gonna be competing for the big money signings & we need to bring in 2/3 good players & i`m not sure Kenny can pull off many Hyypia type buys? If we`re gonna get someone for one season then we should try & get Fabio Capello, England play 5 qualifiers next season & none of them are difficult but i don`t see that happening. Manuel Pallegrini would be a good appointment he`s done well in all his jobs & speaks good English & Torres would appreciate him coming over from Spain. RE: LIVERPOOL for sale - sweetsugar007 - 15-06-2010 08:57 I think we have had our fill of managers from Spain for the forseeable future!!! |
