Ronnie Beaten

RE: Snooker World Championships - mikedafc - 23-04-2019 17:30

Looked like he was at the races today so I am surprised he lost, yesterday he looked like a player who didn't want to be there

Nice to see Cahilll in the second round as the first amateur to reach the Crucible he has really shown what can be achieved by dedication and love for the sport you play. Even if he loses the next math his defeat of Ronnie O Sullivan has to be up there with Wales winning the Six Nations and Tiger Woods' Masters win as one of the biggest sporting stories of 2019.

Its a surprise to see him in the next round but credit where its due he took his chances and played well. I wouldn't make a big deal of the amateur thing though, he turned pro in 2013 and was number 76 in the world at one point, I know 76 is not like a top 10 player but he's not like some amateur from your local club.
