Cracking venue, Pebble Beach. Enjoying the Open, even though I am not a golfer, or a fan in particular. Hope the weather improves. Helps that there's no other sporting competition of note on at the moment until the Tour de France.

Woodland on -11 now leads Rose (-10) by one shot after round 3.
The Englishman holed a crucial ten footer on the last to gain some momentum heading into the final round.
Brooks Koepka is ominously poised on -7, four shots off the lead.

McIlroy 5 shots back.

Woods 11 shots back Tongue Still, I'm sure Peter Alliss would claim he's still one of the favourites...

Brooks Koepha is the one to watch. He's pulled a shot back at the 1st hole.

Woodland held on, ahead of Koepka. So well done to him.

Rose was "that bloke who blows it with a heavy final round". McIlroy top 10 or so.

Woods miles back. Then again, so were Mickelson, Fleetwood, Dustin Johnson etc

Tiger Woods says it's one of the 3 toughest courses in the world. US Open starts tomorrow, I guess.

On the 5 previous occasions Winged Foot has staged the US Open, the winning score has been under par just once.

Justin Thomas is the early clubhouse leader at 5 under par.

Mcllroy & Westwood are 2 shots off the lead.

I've played Pebble Beach on a simulation game, both on the Spectrum many years ago and on PC - and boy, is it tough!! several holes can catch you out. But to see Justin Thomas leading on five under par gives hope to a second winning score under par, but all that depends how the course plays on Day 2.
