RE: Ofcom Off - Scottishbloke - 02-07-2010 14:25 I've allready started the ball rolling in terms of ofcom. The whole forum needs to do likewise. http://yourfreedom.hmg.gov.uk/cutting-business-and-third-sector-regulations/ofcom RE: Ofcom Off - schmoo - 02-07-2010 16:41 (02-07-2010 14:25 )Scottishbloke Wrote: I've allready started the ball rolling in terms of ofcom. RE: Ofcom Off - charles666 - 02-07-2010 19:03 Excellent idea actually commenting where it might be heard about how OFCOM refuses to treat adults like adults with insulting censorship. I registered and added my rating of full stars then left a comment. The more that do this the more it might make a difference (odds are it won't but FRAK it takes only a minnute) so go put a rating down guys then put a thanks on this thread so new people get to hear about it. RE: Ofcom Off - eccles - 03-07-2010 01:39 Thanks to the 14 people who have voted on my proposal. There are a few others mentioning Ofcom or R18 and I have returned in favour. The site is searchable and there are a range of intersting posts - many I agree with, others I don't, and requests to repeal the pub smoking ban out number the pub stripper ban about 40 to 1. There must be more than 14 active posters on this forum, and more than 14 who would like to see stronger material. Sadly 14 or 15* votes won't make it into the top 100, won't get on the front page for most votes, so no snowball effect, and 14 votes won't excite Claggeron. If you know anyone who has not voted please encourage them to do so. Remember, you can vote for more than one suggestion, even if they look similar. * Malcolm's "Censorship" post RE: Ofcom Off - IanG - 03-07-2010 17:01 (03-07-2010 01:39 )eccles Wrote: Thanks to the 14 people who have voted on my proposal. I think (hope) that all yourfreedom contributions will be gathered together under their respective topics. There are several "lift the smoking ban" threads for instance. I've added my 2p worth re Ofcom and the BBFC and the 'dangerous' pictures/porn legislation where applicable. I've no doubt Dave at http://www.melonfarmers.co.uk will be keeping tabs on all the threads relevant to censorship. I reckon this model might be a better way of doing public consultations in the future. At least we the public get a chance to counter opposing views as they arrive rather than allowing the faceless censors the chance to twist the results as they see fit. Can I also suggest those who agree with any of the issues raised on the yourfreedom threads need only vote on a scale of 1 to 5 to boost its relevance/importance. If you don't think you have anything to add to the debate then you could also simply say you agree with a previous post or poster. It's a golden opportunity folks - don't miss this chance to secure your own rights and freedoms. We will of course judge the coalition government on their actions in response to our demands. RE: Ofcom Off - Scottishbloke - 03-07-2010 22:58 Could the government not at least call for an amnesty in regards of ofcom trying to censor the channels as the longer ofcom remain in power it still feels like a Labour government, come on cameron, clegg grow a set of balls and show you mean business in treating adults like adults and not like kids. RE: Ofcom Off - eccles - 07-07-2010 22:34 Slightly off-topic as this relates to Digital Economy rather than Broadcast censorship, but what the heck.
