1st driving test: Made no majors and 2 minors until 30 seconds from the end and then DISASTER!! I nearly ran an elderly lady over and failed the test Sad.
2nd test: Drove like an absolute muppet, made a bucketload of minor errors but still passed bladewave. Very strange Rolleyes.

Ah sure I remember a friend of mine drove the car into a ditch and still got his licence

I passed on Sept 30th 1988 on my 3rd attempt, on my 2nd attempt I ran two dogs over when they started fighting in the middle of the road. oops.

I passed my motorcycling test first time way back in 1980. I was riding a brand new Honda CD100. In those days there was no theory test - just a basic understanding of the road signs. Halcyon days. Wink

I took a long time to learn to drive, partly due to my medical problems,i failed my first test and was taken off the road until an a medical could be carried out to proove i was fit to drive,i passed my test on the 20th of November 1991 and since then ive only had one accident but that was a long time ago,i have always been a cautious driver and i tend to drive within my ability and not take any risks like drink driving,it still amazes me that people do it and more often than not their actions can have a tragic end which effects not only them but the friends and family of their innocent victims.

passed 2nd time, failed 1st time for not looking in my mirrors enough. My advice is have lesson before test and make all the mistakes/get the nerves out there

What bad luck. It's strange that the examiner failed you for running into two dogs fighting in the middle of the road. Huh That wasn't your fault and it was unavoidable. You should have been given the benefit of this.

Looking back, I wasn't ready on my 1st attempt.
Snap Cool I failed on crappy things like hesitancy and wrong gears Blush
My first test was on a dour Friday afternoon around school chucking-out time. The second test was a fresh sunny Wednesday mid-morning about 3 months later Tongue
My instructor followed the highway code quite methodically, which I realised when I bothered reading it after several lessons...
