So lame. They really do have it out for these channels afteral. These complaints are unimportant, and are likely fake as well.

I would love them to go after channels that do real damage such as the ultra religious bigots on the God Squad and Asian channels, the gambling channels which cause hardship and misery and also get them to challenge SKY on their sports channel pricing monopoly. Those channels are dangerous, a few flashes of female genitalia on a adult service late at night will not cause civil unrest.

I totally 100% agree.

This is not best calculated to get them in a good mood.

In several cases recording were not supplied, and Ofcom pointed to previous warnings. As Oscar Wilde might have said, to breach once is a mistake, to breach twice is careless, three times is taking the piss.

Yes, anyone who defies their authority must be punished for their disobedience.

Their crusade against sex on UK TV will, unfortunately, go on. They don't want it so they will not have it, and no-one can touch them for their stance.
They are policy setters, judge, jury and executioner.
I don't think there is another organisation in the UK with such a remit of power.
The Untouchables.

Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs Service.

If you think Ofcom have wide-ranging powers, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Just wanted to thank everyone thus far for their imput and vote. I predict that unless the adult channels start to use the money that they would use to pay these ridiculous fines and use the money to take Ofcom to court instead, then within the next few years the babechannels will cease to exist due to the fact that they've become that tame, they're not even worth watching. Oops, too lateBounceannoyed

With two broadcasters currently facing the wrath of Ofc@m, one possibly facing a revocation notice, a new target is on the horizon.

Previously found in breach for daytime content they now face a further 9 investigations. Will we be seeing a future thread titled Elite TV RIP

The regulator is currently investigating the following

Up to 28 January 2011
Programme Channel Transmission Date Date Lodged

Elite Days Elite TV Tuesday, 30 November 2010 30 November 2010
Elite Days Elite TV Wednesday, 01 December 2010 01 December 2010
Elite Days Elite TV2 Wednesday, 08 December 2010 08 December 2010
Elite Nights Elite TV Tuesday, 30 November 2010 01 December 2010
Elite Nights Elite TV2 Monday, 06 December 2010 06 December 2010
Elite Nights Elite TV Thursday, 16 December 2010 25 January 2011
Elite Nights Elite TV Wednesday, 22 December 2010 25 January 2011
Elite Nights Elite TV Friday, 31 December 2010 06 January 2011
Elite Nights Elite TV Tuesday, 04 January 2011 25 January 2011

The investigations will result in a large fine due to previous 'in breach' findings. We do not want to see them going the way of Bang, but this is the way of the regulator.

The regulator has upped their game with regard to compliance, can the broadcasters challenge these, i believe they can.

All the more reason to find other ways to bring down ofcon and their hypocrisy.

RE: Ofcom's next target - mrwotzup - 02-02-2011 19:04

It seems odd/strange that such a number of 'innocents' have stumbled (every week or so) across Elite TV at the same time an alledged breach has happened. What are the odds unless someone (or an organisation) is watching 24/7. It would be interesting to see the real source of these complaints or whether there is an organised campaign agaist a particular Channel (Elite TV in this case ) ,Ofcom inspired or not.

Maybe it's time for all the Babechannels to join together to mount a campaign (and involving callers/viewers) to seek a review to see if they are being deliberately victimised.

I find it interesting that several of the complaints are logged weeks after the incident.
