Poomjaeng is a bit of a character to put it mildly. Mr Bean of snooker Wink

I think the crowd think they're at the Colosseum in Rome, not Watford Sad

Nice to see some old sweats like Andy Hicks and the like, filling up the draw for those guys who've clearly felt it worth missing out on, and giving Phil Yates the chance to use more of his statto cred. Some acerbic stuff about "Lightning" Rod Lawler, for example.

'Pot Black' gone crazy is how I would describe it!! Tongue
Loved that programme - didn't it always come on in the winter schedule and didn't the final always take place just before the world championships? I think Steve Davis probably holds the record of most wins for that I think!!
Wonder what Ted "Whispering" Lowe would think of it all? : )

Another crazy day, finishing up with defending champ Robin Hull getting knocked out.

Hamza Akbar coming back to beat Stuart Bingham was probably the shock result of the 1st round Smile

I enjoyed the little snippet of commentary from Dominic Dale, might have been for that match, where one of the players' white balls didn't make it past the blue spot when they were doing the "lag".

"So, what do you think happened there, Dominic?"

"My guess is, he didn't hit it hard enough."

Hawkins lost Smile But Murphy won Sad

Nice to see mostly unfamiliar names left in the last 32, plenty of old sweats like Swail, Doherty, Hicks and Jimmy White.

I want Anthony Hamilton to win it Wink

Booooooooooooo. He is out bladewave.

Murphy got beat in the Semis, thankfully.

Hicks did superbly (I bet Phil Yates was particularly pleased with the stat that this was his first ranking tournament semi-final since 1996), and all credit to Xiao for making the final, and McGill for winning it.

Surprised this is a "ranking" tournament

It's on again on ITV4. Defending champ Anthony McGill lost in the opening match Tongue
