the stream is back up, unfortunately there is a hardware issue with the encoder box it is running on. this will be fixed early next week before we launch the product

Plenty of sites have age verification without the need of using mobile phones. With it being a webstream, then the check should be done online. A simple free registration would do it. And you get the pin via e-mail.
Your saying it's free, but doesn't the text still cost you each time as well?
You seem unaware that Ofcom now regulates UK TV-like webstreams the same as real TV. Most website age verification is nothing of the sort, just "Are you over 18?" "Yes I am" "OK, I believe you". A site that relies on this risks being fined by Ofcom.
And as for it costing the text charge, the website does say standard network charges might apply.
Having said that, all I get is a blue screen. Needs a bit more work guys. Ill put the tissues and hobnobs away.
Yes I am aware, but at present that only applies to simulcasts transmissions. And yes I agree, most age verification is nothing of the sort. But there are some that are.
But do think a simple text via a mobile phone is one.
More kids have phones, than adults. If a simple text is classed as an age verification. Then that's even worse than asking the question "are you over 18"

It's an adult shortcode, and therefore it is restricted by the mobile operators age verification procedures, so is much more secure than a "are you over 18" form

Hold on, the instructions on the site imply I need to goto freeview 96 and hit the red button to get my code to view the online stream? Does this not defeat the point? Those with Freeview will use that to view the channel whilst us with Sky still cannot get a code to use on the live stream?
Am I missing something? I must be... please enlighten me! - Also I was wondering if Daryl Morgan is ever on BSX? Shes' about as close to perfect as it gets. D:

the online stream test ran this previous weekend, and is currently down while we iron out the problems we experienced. We will launch it as soon as possible, we expect this week sometime.
the stream will be available for everyone to view, so Sky viewers will be able to watch the live shows also.

Alright guys,
We will be running Babestation Xtreme online again tonight. Again, it will be free to test the service can run without issue. We're running it on a brand new, powerful box to encode it, so we're hoping for a lot less issues with regard the stream going down...
If you want to watch, go to http://www.bsx.tv/live. The page opens at 11pm, and the Xtreme show will kick in on the stream when it starts at midnight!
Get it for free while you can, as if all goes well tonight we'll be rolling it out from tomorrow at £5, inline with the pricing on Freeview!
