That audio tape of Rebekah Brooke addressing the staff at the NOTW leaves me wondering if it could get any worse.

Not only that if it did get any worse, I would say it would be impossible for her to remain in her position.

And Andy Coulson is charged and released on police bail until
October!!

So the journos are told 'turn off your phones' before Rebecca Brooks spoke to them - but someone didnt and now its on the web - anyone else find this amazingly ironic Wink

the sun, the times and sunday times. as well as news corp, sky, 39% of bskyb, fox news.

at news international hq they also have the sun and the times in one building, could there be phone hacking or whatever at these papers as well?

murdochs have only lost £160m out of £9bm, preception causes more damage than actual evidence.

Whoever it was who didn't turn their phone off should be given a medal!! Maybe now someone will force her to resign!! does youtube have the full transcript?

I firmly believe that this has the makings of making the Watergate scandal look like a picnic or was Watergate bigger than this? if it is bigger than Watergate then Cameron needs to go. I wasn't impressed with his performance in the press conference yesterday.

From the Indepenent:

"The Watergate and phone-hacking scandals had small beginnings – a break-in at a hotel, and a single "rogue" reporter and private detective. The News of the World scandal is not just about phone hacking. It is also about statements made to Parliament, personally to David Cameron, and in a court of law which – as James Murdoch has now admitted – were not true. As with Watergate, which brought down Richard Nixon's presidency, the cover-up could have bigger implications than the original offence."

The government can hold all the enquiries they like, fact is some poor middle management sod will carry the can and Murdoch Snr and junior and all their cronies will slither under their rock for a while. "Sun on Sunday" isnt far off. Our soldiers getting killed almost every day, and relatives phones hacked, looking for a story. Murdered young girl,s voice mail hacked. Can any behavior be worse! The answer, If the public stop buying their product, the head is chopped off and the body will die. Still an 80 year old geriatric is flying into Britain to personally take charge! The journalistic equivalent of Jimmy Savilleannoyedannoyedannoyed

I consider all political parties as bad in this. Don't forget this all started while the opposition Labour government were in charge by both Tony Blair and Gordon Brown and Ken Livingston running London and the Met and it seem much was covered up during that time that we are now finding out about now like the Soham and Milly Dowler hacking from the start of the last decade.

I also feel sorry for the innocent large numbers of ex NOTW employees sacked now on the dole out of a job and also very angry the have been scapgoated and with some irresponsible tw**s given them grief for things they have not done.

All 3 main politicAl parties, Red Ken and maybe even Boris should all hang their heads in shame, they're all as bad past and present.

I notice the news about yesterday's police visit/raid on the Daily Star that was in the news around 4.30 yesterday was soon erased from further bulletins after the start of the 6pm BBC TV news? Wonder why? Something else to hide?

Well thats what they get, its all their own fault. Invasion of privacy i think. They wouldnt stop 4 nothing to get their story, but now they are really paying for what they have done.
