2 spinners vindicated

I'm glad to see we went with the two spinners and a decent day from England excluding the couple of drops in the field.

I would give England the edge after the day's play, but it seems that it is not as much of a batting track as was predicted, but never judge a pitch until both teams have batted! The Pakistani spinners will be tough to face on this turning wicket, but if they get Pakistan all out under 300, they will be in the driving seat.

As in the 1st Test England bowled well.Misbah has 2 gears when batting,if he gets in tomorrow & hits out with Akmal & Gul useful bats 300+ will be a good total. Can our batsmen come out with a game-plan against spin. Also look out for left-arm pace bowler Junaid Khan who played for Lancashire last year & will give Pakistan a balanced attack.

Yeah, J. Khan looked good when he was over here last summer for Lancs and then the bit I've seen him play for Pakistan as well.

Regarding Tremlett coming home and possible replacement if they choose to bring one over for the final test - http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/current/story/550790.html

England have dismissed Pakistan for 257 and in reply have closed the second day on 207/5. At the moment it doesn't look like England will get a huge lead on first innings but with having to bat last on a turning wicket they could do with one.

Shame to see us lose those wickets towards the end of play today but good to see Trott and Cook get together for a decent partnership. Fingers crossed Prior, Broad and Swann can do something similar between them and Bell tomorrow and get a lead of 100+ ideally.

Everyone thought results would be hard to come by on these flat wickets on this tour.So far there's been more in it for the bowlers than expected.Chasing 250+ against Pakistans spinners wont be easy.

Pakistan finish the 3rd day on 125/4 with a lead of 55 and 6 wickets in hand. England have the advantage but there's still a lot of work to do if they are to win this test, especially with having to bat last on a turning wicket. The Pakistan tail isn't the strongest, but England haven't reached the tail yet and the current partnership has been relatively untroubled and is worth 71 so far.

Wicket's gone flat,2nd new ball will be vital.
