Labour lost its Scottish MP's not because there was some magical sudden upsurge of nationalism between the Independence referendum and the general election but because it failed to stand up to the idea that the only way forward was 'austerity' for some and tax cuts for the better off.

Any Labour campaign is always going to be hampered by having to deal with trash like the Daily Fail and Murdochs rags just anxious to promote whatever propaganda Tory central office wants to peddle that week, and it will only get worse if Slimy Dave manages to force the BBC to toe the party line. They have between them managed to construct this fantasy world where there is some sort of sub class of workshy bleeding us tax payers dry, whereas in fact unemployment benefit is a very small percentage of the welfare budget and nowhere close to what is spent on pensions.

Then there is the notion of Tory responsibility with the economy. We have a Prime Minister and chancellor who have constantly been rebuked by the office of national statistics and scrutineering bodies for producing 'misleading' figures on everything from immigration, claims to have increased NHS spending in real terms (it hasn't),it is paying down the debt (its DOUBLED), claims Britain was on the brink of bankruptcy (it never was and had a AAA+ rating under labour which was only downgraded after 3 years of Osbourne , and that Labour was the party of borrowing when Osbourne borrowed more between 2010-2013 then Labour did in its 13 years of government!. Fact is economys have always been cyclical and recovery was always going to come at some time but Osbournes 'austerity' meant Britains recovery was Slower and longer in coming.

Well done to Jeremy Corbyn and the other so called 'rebels' in the Lbour party for having the courage to vote against further punishment for the low paid and for standing up to Harmans lunacy. This is what Labour should be doing if it wants to keep its core vote.

Brummie,

This is a good point. USA accepted that there had to be austere times but decided to invest money into the economy to create opportunities rather than assume saving your way to wealth was the answer. Both Labour and Conservative lost the plot on this.

Scotland was always voting SNP even if the labour party elected Billy Connolly as its leader!

I can only say this so many times, THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE MAIN PARTIES EXCEPT THE BULLSHIT THAT COMES OUT OF THEIR MOUTHS, and if you people can't see that then you deserve all you get.
