Gerry Adams has used what I assume is one of his final speeches as SF President to make crystal clear who he'd like to become UK PM:

Although SF MLA Gerry Kelly has perhaps overshadowed this event (as seen in the Funnies thread):

Nice to see the hopeless Nigel Dodds trying to make out that this proves what rotters SF are:
Quote:Mr Dodds, DUP, asked: "Will Gerry Adams, Mary Lou McDonald or Michelle O'Neill finally take action when we have their policing spokesperson act like this?
"Nobody's holding their breath."
Mr Dodds said that Sinn Féin "preach" respect and equality, but this incident suggested otherwise.
Says the man whose boss has no-sold accusations of corruption for 13 months & counting...

maybe if the NO parking sign was wrote in irish he might of knew not to park there and where did he pull those big bolt cutters from at 7 in the morning ?

RE: Northern Irish Assembly - Doddle - 05-02-2018 09:28

"Are those big bolt cutters in your pocket, or are you just pleased to see me? ...oh."

More brouhaha this week, following on from the exit of Gerry Adams over the weekend. Surely SF aren't going to crumble now just because they've got rid of the old beardie?

Thezza and Varadkar making confident "it's nearly solved" noises yesterday.

Hmm...

Talks collapsed:

Arlene blamed SF, perhaps trying to show her Westminster lapdog who the boss is. She also said that Westminster will have to take over budgets & that. Whereas Madly Bradley has said "no bloody way!" and that devolved government is the best thing (and also saves her a mountain of work).
Quote:The DUP would continue to aim for a restoration of devolution, she said, but it would "not accept a one-sided deal".
Or to put it another way: "The DUP would only accept a one-sided deal if it were their side".

We seemed to have forgotten the real reason it collapsed mainly foster being embroiled in a scandal

RE: Northern Irish Assembly - Doddle - 15-02-2018 09:15

I haven't forgotten!!

But nobody in the UK media seems aware of it being the case.

If its true that this killing of the journalist in Derry/LondonDerry the other night was carried out by a 18 and a 19yr old then could be a case of older people grooming youngsters into paramilitarys again

Wonder if the fact that both sides dont want this for the most part mean we might have a solution to the impasse
