(Starting at Whitehaven and ending at Hartlepool) Its something that was organised by a group of us at work, we are doing it to raise money for local charities. Thanks for the well wishes, shame about your accident thats has been a big worry for me as i've been close to being knocked off a couple of times RE: Who likes going running/jogging then? - Wingcommander - 21-06-2009 21:36 Stacey Wrote:I think it's excellent what you are doing keep it up whether we like it or not or believe it or not there are great benefits in keeping fit & having goals. Good luck with the training & good luck with the Marathon. People should be positivley encouraged to do something. my other half is doing the great north run... let me know if you'd like to sponsor him it is indeed a half marathon xx RE: Who likes going running/jogging then? - Poolieguy01 - 22-06-2009 10:00 I know a few people who have done the Great North Run in recent years all enjoyed it but said it was very tough towards the end RE: Who likes going running/jogging then? - beardedbob - 22-06-2009 10:12 i only like running when it's after a hot babe who's trying to run away from me! Good luck with the training & good luck with the Marathon. People should be positivley encouraged to do something. Having some body fat is good, 25 is a bit high though. My natural BMI is around 8, and my natural weight is about 12 & 3/4. In the last year or so I have managed through stupid amounts of training and a very strict low fat diet to get my BMI down to 4.4 while keeping my weight at 12 & 1/2. In some ways it's good, my ab, general definition and LMM (Lean Muscle Mass) is great... but on the other hand I have noticed that I pick up allot more viruses, usually just common colds and stuff. I saw my doctor and he said there's a good chance that my low BMI is effecting my immune system slightly. Kind of sucks, you work that hard for something, just to be told its actually not good for you. For me I can't say enough about boxing training for fitness, if you have a local club just go, they usually do a free first trial session. You don't have to fight or even sparr if you don't want, but it's great fun and amazing CV at the same time (even once a week). If you can't do that, another great thing to do is put a punch bag up somewhere in your house. If you do running allot of the time you will just lose weight, whereas if you add punch bag work to your routine you will tone your whole upper body, especially your arms and obliques. The great thing about it is it doesn't get boring, you can just put some music on and punch the fuck out of it for as long as you can while burning calories, improving speed, stamina and toning.
