All four Quarter Finals delivered, two very fun matches to open, two three setters to finish. Not a bad Semi Final line up in the end.

Ostapenko vs Kerber should be fun, really tough one to call 50/50.

Serena and Goerges played at the French, thought that was a good chance for Goerges to beat Serena but she lost 6-3, 6-4. Wouldn't be surprised if we get similar again, just hope Goerges isn't a bag of nerves.

WOW. Kevin Anderson came back to beat Roger Federer after being 2 sets down and match points against him.

He won the last set 13-11

What an upset, Anderson has been Federer's bitch over their four meetings till now, nobody expected that.

Nadal just squeaked past Del Potro; will play Djokovic next.
Anderson will play Isner.

The final will be Past Winner vs New Name On The Trophy

Well, Serena's coronation continued today. Can Kerber avert a repeat of 2 years back? Hmm...

I just hope it's a competitive women's final on Saturday. There's every chance it will be - Kerber's obviously no slouch as a two time major winner and former number one. It's just I can't help fearing for all opponents of Serena's when she's in this form. I thought Goerges might have been able to push her to three sets today after Giorgi did in the last round - but that was for the most part sheer domination from Williams. I'll be happy if Angelique can take Serena to a deciding set. Anything after that is a bonus.

As for the men, I'd have to back Anderson to reach the final after the way he outlasted Federer. Looks like a tie-break dominated duel between him and Isner but I'm hoping the South African's previous slam final appearance will just about see him over the line. As for Djokovic vs Nadal, well it's a renewal of their epic rivalry from a few years ago. Impossible to pick a winner - I think I'll just stay on the fence and expect at least four sets.

Some interesting duels still to come before the dust settles at the conclusion of the tournament on Sunday so looking forward to the weekend. Good job there's no TV clash with watching England in the World Cup final either. Wink

They have announced that if the Djokovic V Nadal match isn't finished by eleven, they may have to come back tomorrow eek What's the point of the bloody roof and the lighting if they can't finish, you don't get this with the Snooker Rolleyes
