RE: Drones at Gatwick - lovebabes56 - 24-12-2018 06:13 Whatever happened last week, to me the media went way overboard (especially Mail on Sunday) on this story. I think the couple have every right to sue the paper for that headline when clearly they are not guilty of any drone activity near Gatwick, However I DO support for tougher Drone regulation, starting with all drone owners to be registering their devices on a National register or with the police and acquiring public licence BEFORE FIRST USE, and limits where they can and can't fly their drones and fines to be stiff as possible for exceeding those limits and a bare minimum of 10- 15 years' jail time for illegal use of drones in public like anywhere near airports, seaports or military bases. RE: Drones at Gatwick - Charlemagne - 24-12-2018 12:35 The police have now backtracked on what they are saying regarding the drone. The airport was shut because of a drone. Then after days of investigation they said that as they don't have photograhic evidence the drone may not have existed Today they say that the drone definetely existed The only thing for sure is that they are botching the enquiry RE: Drones at Gatwick - robert.f4 - 24-12-2018 13:11 I spoke a guy on Saturday, and he said "Maybe there is no drones. Maybe a bloody radar was on the blink and the airport didn't want sued. Blaming some drones could be a good cop-out.
