Going through the match - ups I thought similar, although I gave Europe 5 to USA 7 Either way, Europe are toast I think!

First point goes to Europe, as Rory finally finds some form with a 3 & 2 victory over Schauffele. However, it may be a long wait for another point, if at all, with USA up in 9 matches.

Are we blaming Harrington for being too nice, or not nice enough?

Or could it be that the Americans were in fact just better? Wink

Bottom line was, that the USA team were in good form, & we had very few players with decent form. I would question maybe 2 or 3 decisions that Harrington made, but the result would have been the same.
It's taken many bad results, for the USA to get their players living up to their World Rankings. Tiger & Phil The Thrill were part of many more wins than losses in Ryder Cups. This time their young team had no baggage. Europe need a refresh in 2 years time, & having more captains picks will enable Europe to select more form players. They need a matchplay team event between Ryder Cups. USA have benefitted from the Presidents Cup, in terms of pairings. We will possibly have a very inexperienced team in Rome & start as heavy underdogs, despite being the home team. Young players need to be fast-tracked, but there's no easy quick-fix. A player needs to get into the top 60 in the World in order to gain experience against the very best, in WGC events & Majors. Scan through the current rankings & there aren't many players outside of the 12 that have been so soundly beaten.
