Conveniently ignoring the fact that you were wrong in claiming Cameron was the only elected PM in the last 10 years!

At about every general election in recent times, this country votes for a left wing party but because of first past the post, on so many occasions we get a right wing Government. In the US the Republicans have won the popular vote once in Presidential elections since H.W in '88 yet have manged to win the White House 3 times through the winner takes all Electoral College. In Hungary Victor Orban has a 2/3 majority in Parliament that gives him the power to rewrite the constitution despite the fact he received less than the half vote.

I'd wager that he has a bigger majority in his Parliament than Mrs Merkel has in hers. If Merkel ever lost, I wonder how much of an ally Britain's positon would gain from a new German Chancellor?

2 things will happen, either the Tories will elect a Brexit supporting PM which should have been done after Dave pissed off and left or they’ll elect a another Theresa type call an election get smashed lose office end up with a coalition or worse a Jezza government who are completely out of touch they’d stay in the EU pay them billions for the “inconvenience” we put them through. I know which one I’d prefer......

Whatever side your on this has been a monumental fuck up and shows how out of touch and disconnected our MP’s are. Whatever happens with brexit, new pm or even an election let’s just hope are idiotic “leaders” realise something, don’t lose touch with the electorate.

RE: Next PM - lovebabes56 - 25-05-2019 11:55

I have a feeling that has always been the case and do get the feeling that the Conservative party will do everything to keep Boris out of being elected leader and the leadership contest will be fought between Cunt & Leadsom and that Cunt wins. IF that happens, then surely in GE Corbyn would win easily as I feel many couldn't stomach a Cunt led Government even capable of delivering the will of the people. I am surprised Labour are not doing the same with Corbyn, they would be far better off going into any GE led by someone who could unite the country far better and who could deliver the Brexit people want and has fresh ideas on the future of this nation. But I would agree mate, our MP's should wake up to the fact that they should not ignore the electorate at their peril.

The bullshit's started to fly already. Matt Hancock's promising to fix Brexit, beat Labour and prevent global warming Cool

No word yet on his plans for his second day in office Rolleyes

How long does this go on for? It's going to be worse than a General Election bladewave

Right so state of play as of 4.40pm we have Matt Hancock, Esther McVey, Boris Johnson, Rory Stewart(former Prisons Secretary) and Jeremy Hunt as the runners and riders. Stewart has said he will not back Boris because of his backing for a no-deal exit. I wonder who else will throw their proverbial hat into the equally proverbial ring? Smile

RE: Next PM - Regenerated - 25-05-2019 16:49

Hancock's a waste of space. I'd support Larry over him... Rolleyes Wink

He does but the German elections operate under a proportional representation where as The Hungarian National Assembly operates under a dual system of party lists and FPTP, in the latest election his party received just under 50% in both but have 67% of the seats.
