Come on BBC dig deep, and get the county games on Free to air!! Wakey Wakey rise and shine!! cock - a doodle - doo!! ![]() If we can finally see Brexit as a bad memory (could be very bad) maybe our esteemed representatives can turn their attention to bringing our so - called public service broadcaster to heel!! We should all start by making representations to our representatives! RE: County Cricket - hornball - 25-09-2019 15:30 To be honest, I would be more than happy to subscribe match -per - match to the games the counties show through live feed on the internet! I would much prefer the clubs benefitted ahead of the ECB! RE: County Cricket - Snooks - 26-09-2019 16:20 ![]() ![]() Essex bowled out for 141. Trail by 62. RE: County Cricket - Snooks - 26-09-2019 17:00 Essex dial 999. Sir Alistair Cook arrives at the crease. Essex 28/0. RE: County Cricket - hornball - 26-09-2019 17:20 Tres' takes to the field one final time!! Absolute legend!! Where is his Knighthood for services rendered - (mental health)?? in this era of cheap as chips honours, he is as worthy as A Cook. I don't like the idea of sports people getting honours for fulfilling boy/girl hood dreams, and/or creating bandwagons for the masses, as a matter of principle! From MBE to Knighhood, they have to be worth much much more, and their future place has to be debated in my view - certainly in terms of worthy recipients! IT Botham for instance - no problem!! Didn't receive it for cricket exploits, but crucial figure head work with leukaemia! RE: County Cricket - lovebabes56 - 26-09-2019 19:47 Both are as worthy as Sir Andrew Strauss & Sir Ian Botham RE: County Cricket - hornball - 27-09-2019 14:36 (26-09-2019 19:47 )babelover48 Wrote: Both are as worthy as Sir Andrew Strauss & Sir Ian Botham Not Beefy, for the reasons I suggested!! RE: County Cricket - hornball - 24-07-2022 16:24 Been a while since the last contribution to this thread, but I thought it may be the best place to comment on the latest round of Championship matches, and in particular Leicestershire V Glamorgan. Astonishing second inns collapse from the Foxes and equally, the bowling performance from the Glamorgan attack. After massive first Inns from each side on lifeless pitch (not a good thing), to read (I didn't see the final action) of the events that followed took a lot of digesting I can tell you! Glamorgan must have found a way to make the ball 'talk' second time around, so credit to their skill level. Paul Nixon's post match remarks about how the match panned out on the youtube channel, were 'interesting' to say the least. If you didn't hear him, look them up! RE: County Cricket - hornball - 28-07-2022 17:29 Great cricket played in the Surrey v Warwickshire match, although perhaps not when the bears lost 6 for nothing when they should have been well placed to set Surrey a target over 300 in what would have been a decent fewer overs remaining in the match. It may not have made a difference in the end as the Brown Caps cruised home only 2 down, with yet another batting masterclass from H. Amla. I think though that Warwickshire were so shell shocked from their batting collapse, that they weren't 'at the races' after that! Surrey riding high at the top but Warwickshire in some trouble now! Ridiculous that we have to wait another five weeks (of the ECB's making) for the final run in to the CC, but maybe the Bears need the break to regroup for the fight ahead to stay up. |
