I also concur on the visuals, the lighting during the encounter was top notch. Vader has never looked scarier.

Now bending or breaking canon usually doesn't bother me if it tells a good story but this does nag at me. A New Hope heavily implies this meeting and fight never took place. Vader's "Your powers are weak old man" surprise and "When I left you I was but the learner, now I am the master" lines in the film now don't ring quite so true after this episode. Maybe the remaining episodes will address it.

Ewan has been selling Obi-Wan's assumed PTSD well though, perhaps a bit too uncomfotably well. Snap out of it now mate, Alec Guinness was more useful Wink

The relationship with Leia has also changed.

It’s now hard to believe that the Leia in New Hope wouldn’t know that “Ben” Kenobi and Obi Wan are the same person. Yet she will show no recognition of him when she sends the message through Artoo, or later when he is killed by Vader.

I've finally finished episode 3 at the third attempt..

The 3 posts above pretty much cover my feelings. They've turned one of the most powerful Jedi Masters into a Spineless Coward. Are we really meant to believe that in the 10 years or so since ROTS his powers have withered away to nothing through lack of use, but over the next 9 years where he's living as a hermit in a cave they somehow regenerate in time for him to go head to head with Vader on board the Death Star when he's a Pensioner?

Then we have Mini Leia. Her story is basically a rehash of The Mandalorian S1 where the old warrior is tasked with returning a child to their people. At least Grogu was a lot less annoying Wink

Finally watched Episode, and I agree that they seem to have made Obi-Wan a bit weak (apart from the outpost scene Tongue) Darth Vader finally making a full appearence though, and what come of that in this episode - loved that part

The mini Leia story is dragging out a bit, and as mentioned above at least Grogu was not as annoying laugh

Ep IV not only the weakest Ep but also it’s very short.

A little Easter Egg it’s not James Earl Jones voicing Vader it’s a digital recreation of his voice.

Have to agree, the weakest ep so far of the series & very short at around 40 minutes

Much better episode this week that sets things up very nicely for the finale next week

A better episode but that de-ageing was abysmal Big Laugh

*Edit. Apparently the 2 actors weren't de-aged? Something looked odd about them to me.
