The Eyesight test is something I've never heard of..... but if he did not consult the PM (Even if he was still in hospital) then how can Boris say he acted legally when he WASN'T consulted???

Feels to me that that wasn't meant to convince the public. It was only meant to give Cabinet Ministers and backbench MPs a ladder to climb off the limb they crawled out on to defend the little rodent.

Having a young son is hardly an 'exceptional circumstance'. It seems to me that the 'exceptional circumstances' were the following:

- My job is waaaay more important than yours
- The media hates me
- I happen to have access to a spare house with its own wood
- Putting my whole family in the car for a 60-mile round-trip test drive is perfectly acceptable as an eyesight test
- I have no friends in London who could have helped out

(To be fair, I am now minded to believe that last one...)

We also learned what fantastically economical mileage the Range Rover is capable of. 260 miles there, a little 60 mile "test drive", then may have put some more fuel in it on the way back to London but "can't remember".

The Daily Mirror & Guardian have been asking No 10 for an explanation for 6 weeks. It was clear in the press conference that other members of the press have been asking at he daily lobby briefing for the press. Why no attempt to explain before now? Why did his wife lie in her Spectator article? Why did he go back into Downing Street on the day his wife fell ill when they thought it was Covid?

I'm afraid if you spend your life lying to people and telling them you know better than them you don't get to play the victim when you get found out.

Oh and journalists who were not at the press conference want to know if it's true his eyesight trip to Barnard Castle just happened to be on the day of his wife's birthday

The scruffy little bastard could have least ironed his shirt.

Considering his actions he won't even face a fine.
Just looking at his character...he's an A1 cunt.

I think he shaved.... By not showing an ounce of regret or made an apology to millions of parents & families with kids and thr wider public at large he has shown what many of us have long suspected about this government - they don't give a shit how many dead there are and we are asked to do as we told while they do what they like.

In his attempt to convince us how important his job is, he mentioned all the important decisions he has to take in Downing St.

I'd be interested to know what sort of decisions he's taking on behalf of the country.
I rather naively assumed that advisors advised, and Ministers decided...
