Admin, what you say is quite correct in theory, but in practice Setanta doesn't have much worth having really, except the few Premier League matches they have the rights so, so I don't think it's worth anyone buying it. Better to let Setanta go bust and then bid for the Premier League rights when they get re-offered for sale.

No, not true. What they were charging was OK for 46 matches and a small fraction of the price it would cost if you had to buy tickets to go and watch them all, regardless of what anyone thinks of the quality of the coverage. The problem they have now is that they haven't got 46 matches anymore, only 23 under the next contract, and that isn't enough to sell subscriptions.

You're no friend of football then, as this could be very bad news for a lot of clubs. The rights won't get re-sold at what Setanta paid.

I am, i'm just anti-setanta. They charge ridiculous amount of money 4 a shit service they provide. We as football fans dont wanna see people like Craig Burley and Steve Mcmannam as pundits. Their IPL coverage is even worse with people who know nothing about the game. It was perfect when it was on PremPlus
