Excellent knock by Asalanka for Sri Lanka to help chase down a good target. Innings of the tournament for me so far.

INDIA V PAKISTAN
INDIA 151/7
PAKISTN 34/0
Total is reachable without losing wickets if Pakistsn keep clear heads and sensible batting.

We probably will need to do same in our nexr match.

^Bumrah's the key to this match. He's probably the best 20 over quick bowler in the tournament. And he has 3 over left in the last 10.

Edit: after seeing the result Bumrah wasn't key enough. Rolleyes

Clinical run chase by Pakistan. It wasn't the fours & sixes, but the running between the wickets that impressed me. Babar Azam is ranked 2nd in T20I with Mohammad Rizwan 7th & on the rise after moving up to open.

An equally impressive chase by Sri Lanka, the highlight was the 5th wicket partnership of 86 off 52 balls between Asalanka & Rajapaksa. They combined for a total of 8 fours & 8 sixes in their innings, & at 79-4 & the run-rate climbing towards 10 they made it look comfortable.

Exactly!! That is the downside of T20 Boomer. Batsmen some how lose their heads, and think that they have to 'swing from the hip' all the time. Too often, they seem to go looking for what they think they are worth (not respecting the bowling skills), rather than settle for what they are entitled too, to the ball send down to them.

I wonder how much analysis is done on understanding the number of runs that are lost to an innings setting/chasing - doesn't really matter which - by not settling for ones, twos etc, as you rightly suggest, and ending up with no runs (or worse lost wickets) trying to achieve the 'big hits'. 2+2 = 4 every bit as much as a boundary (i know Rachel Reilly step aside). Who knew that!!Bounce

You have to feel for Scotland, I did fear the worst with a target of 191, but they made a decent start, with the first wicket going down early in the 4th over. From 28-0 to 60 all out in 1o.2 overs. They had no answer for the mystery spin, with Mujeeb taking 5 & Rashid Khan mopping up the lower order. These bowlers are more than capable of making better sides look equally inept. Where they will struggle is against taller faster bowlers, so they could find it harder to set defendable targets, or chase down scores against sodes with fast bowling firepower.
