RE: Tour Championship - Doddle - 04-04-2024 20:16 Gary Wilson had to battle from 8-7 down to beat Zhang Anda 10-8. He should give Ronnie more respect than Carter did. RE: Tour Championship - Snooks - 04-04-2024 21:51 Mark Williams has seen off Judd Trump 10-4. Wow. He faces Mark Allen in the semi finals after he battled past Ding Junhui 10-8. RE: Tour Championship - Joannis - 04-04-2024 21:53 Judd's positional play was all over the place as he struggled to get the pace of the table. Mark Williams used his experience of already having played a match on those tables to beat Judd 10-4 in an unremarkable match. On the other table Mark Allen's break of 142 is now the highest break so far, so no high break prize for Carter. Edit: Thanks for that Snooks, didn't realise the match was over, too busy watching Chelsea beat Man Utd 4-3 with virtually the last kick of the game. RE: Tour Championship - Doddle - 05-04-2024 12:45 Could be an all golden oldie final then. Or an all no-oil-painting one. RE: Tour Championship - Snooks - 05-04-2024 20:49 Ronnie O'Sullivan is through to the final with a 10-7 victory over Gary Wilson. A compelling match for so many reasons. Wilson was not intimidated by his opponent and put up a mighty good fight. But the Rocket powered away from 7-7 to claim the win. RE: Tour Championship - Joannis - 05-04-2024 21:25 It was an acid test for both players. Ronnie withdrew from both tournaments Gary Wilson won this season so it was a chance for each to test themselves against the other in a best of 19. There was a curious incident in frame 11 when ay 5-5 Ronnie was adjudged to have played a push shot, but Wilson very sportingly asked the referee to check it as he wasn't convinced it was a foul. It was a few minutes before the referee managed to get Wilson to play his shot. Wilson took a useful lead but Ronnie made one of his trademark clearances with all the reds in awkward positions to win the frame. After the interval Wilson came back from 7-5 down to level at 7-7 with such fast, fluent potting that Ronnie must have felt he had to slow him down. The errors came from Wilson in the next 2 frames and Ronnie took his opportunities to go 9-7 up without Wilson potting a ball. Ronnie wrapped up the match with a brilliant 129 clearance directly from Wilson's break. RE: Tour Championship - Doddle - 06-04-2024 12:40 Wilson did well, he's been one of the stars of the season. RE: Tour Championship - Doddle - 06-04-2024 20:03 Mark W got to a 9-0 lead, but Mark A has brought it back to at least 9-5... RE: Tour Championship - Joannis - 06-04-2024 20:55 10-5 to Williams. When he beat Judd, Williams was winning all the scrapy frames. Today, Williams was making all the high breaks. 3 centuries, including a 140, and a 99 break. He could be the player with the mojo tomorrow. Although Allen lost, he has the consolation of going in to the World Championship as World no.1. When Ronnie and Judd lose all their ranking point for contesting the 2022 World Championship final, Allen will be top of the heap. RE: Tour Championship - Doddle - 07-04-2024 12:37 Credit to Triangle Face, I think almost all others would have written things off at 9-0 down. Williams started the week on the ropes against Ford, he's a battler when he gets going. |
