RE: England v New Zealand Test Series 2022 - lovebabes56 - 03-06-2022 13:12 This could be over in three days RE: England v New Zealand Test Series 2022 - lovebabes56 - 03-06-2022 17:53 NZ now have lead of 227 which colud reach 300 if we don't pick up quick wickets in morning RE: England v New Zealand Test Series 2022 - hornball - 03-06-2022 18:17 Far more discipline and good judgement shown by the Black Caps second time around! Yes the pitch has settled down, but there could easily have been a 'hangover' from their opening innings which may have hampered them in the second dig. Also building a decent lead albeit on a track that is now quite flat! They have all the time in the world to set a sizeable target, which it what it might take, although should they want to be 'in it to win it', they may want to set a target England look at as a number they can reach to take the victory, and then trust that they can take out the top 6, with the rest essentially walking wickets. Question is though, how much more likely are England to throw off the safety first shackles under Stokes/McCullum to seek the win in general, and given their 1st Inns failings in particular. RE: England v New Zealand Test Series 2022 - Snooks - 03-06-2022 18:33 Have no fear. England will no doubt make the pitch look like a minefield second time around . RE: England v New Zealand Test Series 2022 - Boomerangutangangbang - 03-06-2022 21:33 Best case scenario is for a 350 target. Root, Bairstow, & Stokes will have to get the bulk of the runs. Remember they got a solid platform in the 1st innings, & then lost 10-82. The question is, are the Kiwi's making this pitch look flat, or will they get more out of the wicket, when they bowl. RE: England v New Zealand Test Series 2022 - Whynot - 03-06-2022 21:40 It was definitely the best time to bat from the afternoon session onwards. I thought Potts kept on plugging away well! Hated the plan of Stokes banging it in short all the time. I know Mitchell got out hooking first innings but it became so predictable! Without movement the attack was a bit once paced but with all the injuries there wasn’t much they could do. Maybe they could’ve gone 7-2 field and look to hide it outside Mitchell’s off stump, play on his patience a bit, he does like to get on with it. A day 2 Lords pitch and the circumstances make it wrong to judge Parkinson. I would’ve liked to have seen him go past the bat. But as I said with no prep and no time to mentally prepare it’s unfair to judge. RE: England v New Zealand Test Series 2022 - Boomerangutangangbang - 04-06-2022 11:51 Game on, England require 277. RE: England v New Zealand Test Series 2022 - Whynot - 04-06-2022 12:13 If one man can make a hundred the others just need to chip in. Not going to be easy but it’s doable. RE: England v New Zealand Test Series 2022 - Whynot - 04-06-2022 12:27 Oh come on. Rule number one for any batsman, know where your off stump is!! That’s beyond amateurish from Lees!!!
