Fair number of 0-0 draws in the first set of group matches.
That being said in the majority I thought they were more entertaining affairs than the scorelines suggested.

So many teams not wanting to lose the first game, it makes it so much harder to get through, by Sunday night, Argentina and Germany both could be out of the World Cup. eek

England are getting overrun in the midfield by the USA. They need to bring on Henderson to tighten it up.

Be alright against Wales, it's on the BBC Tongue.

Round 2 could be a problem though, back to ITV Wink.

I like that Harry Maguire's performance has been compared to that of Sergio Ramos Tongue

Notes from Friday.

Wayne Hennessey was the first player to be sent off in the tournament (and only the 3rd goalkeeper ever to be sent off in a World Cup).

Senegal became the first African country to win a match, after all 5 of them had failed to do so in the first round of matches.

The 0-0 between England and USA was the 5th goalless draw so far - getting close to the World Cup record which is 7 in a tournament.
