RE: England v West Indies 3 Match Test Series - lovebabes56 - 22-07-2024 06:30 I wouild imagine it gives us a boost in the WTC I imagine in the next few years there is a good nucleus in this West Indies that actually does suggest that iif they can build on the positives, they are likely only going to get better & possibly stronger. When you consider their last test victory againstv us was on their soil in 2021/22 they haven't won a series in England since 1997. and overall over the last two years they have only only won 1 series against Zimbabe, Lost & drawn to Australia and lost the rest they played. This series defeat might be a harsh one, but I think they will take some positives from it that does suggest there are signs there they could become pretty competitive over the next two years. Who's next to visit? RE: England v West Indies 3 Match Test Series - Boomerangutangangbang - 26-07-2024 07:10 Providing everyone is fit I expect England to be unchanged, I would however like to see Potts & or Pennington have a run-out. I understand that Bashir & Atkinson are new to the side, but Potts has played before. RE: England v West Indies 3 Match Test Series - Boomerangutangangbang - 26-07-2024 13:41 The new ball swing more than expected for England. Woakes wasted it by not bowling a fuller length. West Indies got off to a decent start, particularly Brathwaite, but 76-0 soon became 97-3 all in the space of 25 balls. England forced their way back into the match as the last 5 wickets fell for 58 runs. The fall of 3 England wickets in the 8 overs bowled last night took the shine off a decent bowling performance. RE: England v West Indies 3 Match Test Series - Boomerangutangangbang - 27-07-2024 13:04 Root & Stokes batted through the remainder of the morning session after being in some trouble at 54-5 after the wickets of Pope & Brook. The century stand might well have not even got off the ground when the West Indies failed to review a potential lbw decision off the bowling of Shamar Joseph which proved to be out. RE: England v West Indies 3 Match Test Series - Charlemagne - 27-07-2024 16:19 I see that rain has appeared in Birmingham. At least the scores are nearly level. England 8 runs behind with 3 wickets left. RE: England v West Indies 3 Match Test Series - Boomerangutangangbang - 27-07-2024 16:23 The question is can the West Indies keep this performance up for 4 or 5 days. Bubbling up to be a great match. |
