England leaked runs at the back-end of Australia's innings after being in control early, Smith & Green steadied the ship to allow Carey, Maxwell & Hardie the freedom to accelerate.
England's innings followed a similar pattern with Salt & Duckett falling cheaply to excellent bowling from Starc, before Jacks & Brook added 156. Livingstone played an attacking cameo as Brook calmly completed his maiden ODI century.
When the rain finally arrived England were coasting to victory, the 46 run win by the DLS method backed up the comfortable nature of the result.

England replace Archer with Stone. For Australia Marsh is out Smith will captain the side Abbott & Carey are the other 2 omissions, replaced by Short, Hardie & Connolly who will be making his debut. As per usual there's rain expected later in the day which had an influence on the decision at the toss.

England rattled along at a great pace reaching 203-2 in 24.5 overs, before Australia took a grip on the game. If the rain had arrived 5 balls earlier they would've escape the loss.
