RE: Top Gear - bytor - 23-03-2015 12:33 (23-03-2015 08:29 )HannahsPet Wrote: Well looks like its not going be a good ending BBC have cancelled the live tours Might not be able to if he and the other two have signed to do a show for Sky or whoever. All the stuff in the press is rumour and counter-rumour at the moment and will remain so until the findings of the report are officially made public. The BBC are in a situation over this where they can't win. Sack Clarkson and they lose a fortune and get grief from millions of fans. Keep him and they get grief from those who dislike him. The Thought Police/pc brigade would be up in arms too. RE: Top Gear - munch1917 - 23-03-2015 16:51 ^^^ Yup, lots of rumour and counter-rumour, the usual media make believe. The version of the story I read today said that the beeb were desparate to keep JC. It also said they were privately admitting they cocked up by suspending him and postponing the shows as it has created this whole media fiasco and put them in this impossible situation. Apparently the live shows postponement was done by a completely different arm of the corporation that deals with those events and was based on the ridiculously long time it has taken them to try to sort this mess out, meaning they couldn't guarantee the shows going ahead, so made the decision to postpone before it got any nearer the event date. They were also trying to make something of the beeb beginning filming on a 'new motoring show'. Apparently this is some kind of reality/game show involving cars and driving, so sounds nothing whatsoever like Top Gear or any sort of rival to TG, just happens to have cars. Yet more attempts to stir the shit by the media Shouldn't be too much more of this nonsense before all is revealed. RE: Top Gear - HannahsPet - 24-03-2015 22:12 Guido Fawkes is saying that Clarkson will be sacked tommorow and apparently Chris Evans will be his replacement RE: Top Gear - Tumble_Drier - 25-03-2015 00:46 Chris Evans If they sack Clarkson, the BBC will ship someone in just to see out the international contracts they have for Top Gear then the show will be cancelled. RE: Top Gear - wackawoo - 25-03-2015 01:00 My vote goes to Sabine Schmitz. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabine_Schmitz She was cool when she appeared on the program, wasn't there rumours she was going to do some form of presenting on top gear once? A German woman, that would be funny as. RE: Top Gear - HannahsPet - 25-03-2015 03:27 She is presenter on the german one They must have already signed up May and hammond then because at end of month there contracts are up Althought the bbc worldwide contract is up in septemeber apparently RE: Top Gear - bytor - 25-03-2015 06:54 If its true then its the end of Top Gear in its present format. Chris Evans as a replacement? He has had a chequered past too. The BBC do have their favourites. Still can't go hitting people no matter the reason, the BBC are right to stand on their principles. Just watching the BBC News as they are promoting actor Russell Crowe and his latest movie RE: Top Gear - lovebabes56 - 25-03-2015 08:29 What's the betting they would try to turn the Stig into a presenter? RE: Top Gear - Rammyrascal - 25-03-2015 09:14 Does seem that clarkson is being sacked and if that's the case then it's the end of topgear as we know it. Interesting to see if Hammond and May will stay with top gear if clarkson does go. They apparently refused to film segments for the rest of the current series so that bbc could show it because no clarkson RE: Top Gear - HannahsPet - 25-03-2015 09:40 Everyone assumes that it will be ITV or Sky that will try and get them but the fact that its the worlds largest show means that the american networks might think its worth it dont know why someone like NBC ABC or CBS buy the rights to topgear and then produce it. mind you if you think ofcom are bad then FCC are even worse |
