RE: Golf - Boomerangutangangbang - 22-06-2025 23:12 Absolutely devastated that Tommy couldn't get over the line. ![]() RE: Golf - Doddle - 23-06-2025 14:12 Had his chips ![]() Well done Bradley, though. RE: Golf - Snooks - 09-08-2025 10:33 First leg of the Fed Ex playoffs. St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind. Leader going into the weekend as it stands? Tommy Fleetwood on -13. Gulp. Time for several stiff drinks. RE: Golf - Snooks - 09-08-2025 22:59 Good news, bad news and utterly disastrous news. The good news is Fleetwood still leads at -14. The bad news is he bogeyed the last to mean his lead is only 1 shot. And the disastrous news is who lurks just two behind him ![]() ![]() ![]() Oh well ![]() RE: Golf - Snooks - 11-08-2025 07:26 In the end Justin Rose won a playoff against JJ Spaun at the 3rd extra hole. Tommy Fleetwood led at -16 down the stretch but then got pegged back and dropped a shot at the 17th to lose the opportunity to join the playoff. RE: Golf - Doddle - 11-08-2025 14:14 You called it ![]() RE: Golf - Boomerangutangangbang - 11-08-2025 19:53 Both Rose & Fleetwood were quiet on the front 9 & lost pace with Spaun & Scheffler, although Fleetwood wrestled the lead back with 3 birdies in 4 holes, & Rose ignited his round with 4 consecutive birdies. For a chance Scheffler's putter went cold & Spaun held the clubhouse lead & had to watch Rose with a makable putt on the last for the victory, it slipped by which set the stage for some quality sudden-death golf, the highlight was the 2nd extra hole with Rose looking good 8 foot away, Spaun made a monster putt to pile the pressure on, Rose was up to the task. Both players peppered the flag, after the hole placement had been moved for the 3rd extra hole, Rose got his putt in first before Spaun failed to make his. Rose now has 12 wins on US soil & the wait goes on for Fleetwood who must surely break the door down after constantly knocking. After another agonizing near miss, my observation is that perhaps Tommy needs to be braver to get one over the line, & by that I don't mean a reckless all-out attack, but selectively hunt down a few more flags. I feel he's been a little protective of his lead & just too conservative. The standard is very high every week & his consistency is admirable but no one will hand him a victory, he must take it by the scruff of the neck & win it himself. RE: Golf - Boomerangutangangbang - 17-08-2025 14:15 Robert MacIntyre holds a 4 shot lead in the BMW Championship after 3 rounds. After leading by 5 overnight Scheffler moved within 3 shots, but MacIntyre relished the challenge & the partisan crown, a precursor of what will follow in the Ryder Cup. A 41 foot birdie on the last will give him momentum leading into round 4. RE: Golf - Snooks - 17-08-2025 22:50 And typically McIntyre has blown it with most of the damage done early on. His lead gone in short order and he never truly recovered. Off the tee he was all over the shop and his putter was stone cold when it mattered. It's not as if Scheffler did anything unbelievably special either. All too depressingly familiar. ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Golf - Doddle - 18-08-2025 13:53 Fleetwood finished joint 4th, though. |
