RE: NFL 2025-2026 season - Boomerangutangangbang - 14-01-2026 16:07 Mike Tomlin has stepped down as Head Coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers after 19 seasons. One Super Bowl win, making the Playoffs on 13 occasions, with 8 AFC North titles. His record of never having a losing season is unprecedented. His record in the Playoffs is less impressive losing 12 with 8 wins, his most recent record is worse still losing the last 7 times. RE: NFL 2025-2026 season - Boomerangutangangbang - 14-01-2026 19:56 Eagles have fired OC Kevin Patullo, it looks like to me that he's the fall guy when the real issue is Jalen Hurts. Charger fire OC Greg Roman, I'm not sure what he could've done about injuries which was a big issue. RE: NFL 2025-2026 season - Louisetights - 14-01-2026 20:41 So just Zac Taylor remains in the AFC North with his job intact Looks like Tomlin is set to sit out next season and take a break from coaching Great first 10 seasons or so but does feel like they've been treading water for the last decade, getting above .500 but never really being in contention as the record of losing the last 7 playoff games shows Probably may have been better of in the long run of having a 4-5 win season and getting some help with an early draft pick, feels like the last few years with Big Ben and since he retired they've been searching for a QB. RE: NFL 2025-2026 season - Louisetights - 15-01-2026 08:37 So looks like Harbaugh is New York bound barring any snags with the finer details of the contract Decent chance to turn them around fairly quickly I'd say When you look at the players they have they definitely have weapons with Dart, Skattebo and Nabers all 23 or under and on good contracts for the next few years that you can easily build a roster around them on offense especially They should have won more than they did this past season really. If they can stay injury free they should improve fairly quickly RE: NFL 2025-2026 season - Boomerangutangangbang - 15-01-2026 08:51 ^^ Yes I agree, lots of potential for the Giants. The NFC East needs to be more competitive, the Eagles were short of their best & yet still won by a clear margin. The Cowboys are underachieving, The Commanders need to keep Daniels fit for a full season, but they have roster problems. RE: NFL 2025-2026 season - Boomerangutangangbang - 17-01-2026 10:10 The NFL made a smart move by not having a Monday Night game in week 18 to give everyone at least 6 days rest. But then they missed a great opportunity in the Divisional Rounds to make it as fair as possible but instead they gave the 49ers a short week when it made more sense for the Rams @ Bears game to be played on the Saturday. The Seahawks already have the advantage of a week off & no travel so why further disadvantage the Niners with extra & a day less rest or practice. One day can made so much difference & can impact on injured players availability. RE: NFL 2025-2026 season - Boomerangutangangbang - 18-01-2026 10:16 Broncos 33 - 30 Bills O/T BO Nix led the Broncos to their 8th game winning drives this season but this one came at a cost after news that his season is over after he fractured his ankle on that drive but continued for 2 plays to set up the winning field goal. The Broncos moved the ball with efficiency on a long time consuming opening drive but had to settle for a field goal before the Bills took the lead with a Hardman TD catch late in the 1st quarter. The Broncos tricked the Bills when tackle Frank Crum had a 7 yard TD catch for the go ahead score before the Bills tied it up just outside the 2 minute warning. Nix connected with Humphreys for a 29 yard TD catch inside the final minute of the half, but the Bills tried to push for a score & a Allen fumble handed the Broncos a bonus field goal as the led 20-10 at half time. A Broncos field goal extended their lead before a Bills fightback, first a Coleman TD catch, then Kinard made a 14 yard TD grab as the took a 24-23 lead which was further extended by a field goal. Nix threaded a TD pass to Mims from 26 yards with 1.01 remaining in the half but the Bills tied it up with a 50 yard field goal from Prater to take the game into overtime. Allen threw his 2nd interception of the game in overtime to go with his 2 fumbles & kicker Lutz sealed the game. Allen has already blamed himself for the loss but credit has to go to the Seahawks defence for creating indecision. The Bill held a 10 minute advantage with time of possession as Cook had a 100 yard game on the ground which gave the Bills a 100 yard advantage in total offence. Ultimately with 5 turnovers for the Bills & just one for the Broncos proved to be a deciding factor. Coach McDermott has to take some blame with a bad call to go for points at the end of the first half, it felt like a turning point in what turned out to be a close game despite the mistakes. RE: NFL 2025-2026 season - Boomerangutangangbang - 18-01-2026 12:06 Seahawks 41 - 6 The game started with a 95 yard Rashid Shaheed kick-off return for a touchdown as they jumped out to a 17-0 1st quarter lead. Purdy was scrambling for his life all game against a swarming Seahawks defence. The Niners hung in but could only muster a couple of 2nd quarter field goals. The benefit of the bye & a short week for the Niners was highlighted in the 2nd half, the 49ers visibly faded as the Seahawks took a firm grip on thye game. Kenneth Walker III had 116 yards on 19 carries & 3 TD's compared to CMC who rushed for just 35 on 11 carries, the fact that Purdy was the Niners leading rusher tells its own story. The Niner lost 2 fumbles, Purdy was sacked twice & threw 1 int. Whilst the Seahawks were 4/6 in the RED Zone the Niners failed to even make it inside their opponents 20. With the need to play catch-up the Niners didn't punt until the 4th quarter, but they were 0/3 on 4th downs. This is a talent packed Seahawks roster who have a real shot of going all the way. Hopefully the Niners can give it one last crack for some of their remaining veterans, draft well & stay fit, which is easier said than done. RE: NFL 2025-2026 season - Hobgoblin - 18-01-2026 12:52 Seahawks are no joke. Super Bowl favourites for a reason. I for one am glad that the Vikings let Sam Darnold walk but if we’re being honest most QBs would shine with that offence and defense around them. RE: NFL 2025-2026 season - Regenerated - 18-01-2026 20:51 Seattle are strong, balanced in offense and defense. The QB still has to deliver though. Denver proved to be Josh Allen's kryptonite. Lots of mistakes from both them and Buffalo but a very close back and forth game. Gutted for Bo Nix, makes sense the Broncos have gone down in the pundits and bookies estimation for the SB. |
