I'm disappointed with Roy Keane saying the Irish players think are very good players,as if they have massive egos. True they are not the best, but why is he so bitter towards us
I want Trappatoni to change our style of play, by playing it on the ground and be brave with the ball. I want new players in the team like McClean, McCarthy and Coleman

Spain were just too good
Its back to the drawing board for Ireland there are some good players coming through like McClean McCarthy and Coleman, Wes Hoolahan at Norwich has been completely ignored, new tactics are needed and maybe a new manager

The Irish fans chanting at the end of the match, made me proud of my country and proud to be Irish and for some reason it nearly left a tear in my eye. Again good luck to Spain and to England for the rest of the tournament

Bet you wish fabregas did start lol although he did bang in a cracker to seal the deal. As a chelsea fan i was pleased to see torres on form hope he can maintain it otherwise chelsea have no chance this season.

I agree with you Dan, a good performance against Italy i think, will put a bit of pride back in the team, and it should give the team a lift ready for the 2014 qualifiers. I think it is great that your fellow countrymen kept singing to the end wouldn't be surprised if you were singing Fields of Anthenry with them watching the game, but whatever the result, whether in rugby or football, you Irish guys always look on the bright side of life. I really want to see a more solid England performance tonight, and would like to think Hodgson can send out an attacking team and attacking style too as I felt that whilst we put in that performance against France, we really can't afford to sit back against Sweden too much, given we've never beaten them in a competitive match and would love to see Carroll get a start tonight and hope that he'll put the Swedish defence under pressure. I think Germany and Spain are probably looking like probable second round opponents for us should we get through.

I Torres thought was good too, it's nice to see him find his form at the right time for Spain. I can't see any team stopping them apart from the Germans or maybe us with a bit of luck.

Don't get me wrong I wanted Ireland to do well and go through (got a lot of Irish family), but reading through dan and terence's posts from last night was more entertaining than the game itself!
