RE: Internet Porn Site Regulation - admiral decker - 22-06-2019 09:53 I wouldn't say they haven't spent a single penny. Mindgeek are seeking to become an accredited AV provider, which means they have had to pay for a third party to audit their AV system and report the findings to the BBFC. However, were AV to be cancelled entirely, I'm sure Mindgeek would be seeking to recover this cost from the government and I don't see how the government could refuse to pay. I'm sure it would be loose change to the government anyway, certainly in comparison to the ferry contracts it agreed to ensure critical imports could reach the UK in the event of a no-deal Brexit. These contracts were later cancelled at a cost of £50m in compensation to the ferry companies, plus another £33m to Eurotunnel. I'm sure if AV were cancelled there would be a few compensation claims, although for a lot less money. Which could in turn lead to a rash of claims from countless websites that would have already invested in new code to put the AV systems in place. Cost-wise it may not be a fortune on a par with the ferries issue, but it could potentially be messy and ugly, and the publicity of the government paying compo to porn companies for its own failure wouldn't look good Anyhoo, thats all future speculation, it's only 'delayed' thus far, keep watching this space RE: Internet Porn Site Regulation - cwpussylover - 23-06-2019 10:29 (22-06-2019 15:03 )billyboy1963 Wrote: or hopefully never when Boris is Pm it will never happen...cant intefer with his enjoyment of pornhu b top geezer, left corbyn would censor the lot and make you wank to pics of the Kremlin RE: Internet Porn Site Regulation - Tractor boy - 23-06-2019 11:34 Or Diane Abbott RE: Internet Porn Site Regulation - Baggiebhoy - 23-06-2019 15:27 It's almost as though the people in charge of implementing the law don't want to do so. Wonder why? It can be complicated by the current prorogue of Parliament, whatever ends up happening with Brexit, and a highly likely general election, but they are saying expect AV in mid to late January. RE: Internet Porn Site Regulation - 4waydiablo - 16-10-2019 16:12 The government have now cancelled the whole thing. What a climbdown. So the porn block is ditched, but no specific reason given that I can see. |
