RE: The Dubious World of Boris Johnson - Charlemagne - 17-01-2022 11:40 Operation deflect is in full swing. 1. Mud sling at Starmer 2. Freeze the TV licence fee, with plans to replace it with other forms of revenue. Will go down well with the Tory MP's. 3. Plans to remove all covid restrictions. Will go down well with the Tory MP's. RE: The Dubious World of Boris Johnson - southsidestu - 17-01-2022 18:05 Priti Patel is also ramping up the tough rhetoric on channel crossings by migrants but offering the same old failed strategy of offshore processing which they can never get any country to agree to or saying that the military are going to police the channel, which is one of those sledgehammer to a nail policies in order to look tough but don't really achieve the desired result. As for the BBC, it is a bit of an odd move, obviously they hate the fact that the nation's public broadcaster isn't as sycophantic towards them as most of the print press as well an ideological dislike for public funded institutions and yet the people who watch the BBC the most tend to be over 60s in the south of England aka The Tory base. Also what is likey to happen is that a lot of celebrities who are largely viewed as apolitical, Sir David Attenborough for instance will come out and vocally support the BBC even if they don't attack the government which is a battle they can only lose The issue with Keir Starmer is that he had a beer and some food with people in an office as opposed to a party where more than 40 turned up out of around 100 invited. Those two things aren't even on the same planet So to sum up the Govenment's strategy to deflect from Partygate is to, point out that they are failing miserably on an issue that is a major trigger point to a lot of the public, defund an institution that is most popular with their own base which will in turn pick a fight with some of the countries most beloved national treasues and a false equivalency that Stevie Wonder could see through RE: The Dubious World of Boris Johnson - ShandyHand - 17-01-2022 20:21 (16-01-2022 17:04 )Tractor boy Wrote: Operation " save big dog " ... RE: The Dubious World of Boris Johnson - Cooper_temple - 18-01-2022 16:35 Boris Johnson "categorically" denies anyone warned him the No 10 drinks party broke lockdown rules...even though he made the rules and said them EVERY SINGLE DAY to the public. RE: The Dubious World of Boris Johnson - lovebabes56 - 18-01-2022 16:38 How far toasted Is Johnson???
