RE: UFC - CFCBLUE - 06-10-2010 17:43 I agree 100 % with you guys about the comments regarding ESPN / Sky. Like groundnpound the main attraction about ESPN for me is paying a Tenner and you get a number of Sports included in the package. As a big sports fan myself it caters for all my needs ( Premiership Football & Rugby, NFL, MLB, NBA and of course the UFC). Sky will just take the piss by putting all the UFC Main Events on Sky Box Office, so what"s that about £16 a month X 12 ? RE: UFC - groundnpound - 07-10-2010 12:39 CARWIN RETURNS (Took this piece from the net) The layoff for Shane Carwin is almost over. After a near miss in his last fight that saw him almost take the UFC heavyweight title from Brock Lesnar, the Colorado fighter is ready to return to the Octagon, and he’s targeting a New Year’s Day fight at UFC 125. Carwin made the announcement via his personal Twitter page on Tuesday, saying that he had no opponent yet, but a report from Sportsnet.CA states that “Ultimate Fighter Season 10” winner Roy Nelson may be tapped to face him on the UFC 125 card on New Year’s Day. Nelson has been recovering from knee surgery following his last fight, a loss to Junior Dos Santos in August. There has been no confirmation that the Las Vegas based fighter would indeed be ready by a Jan. 1 date. Since his last fight, Carwin has undergone medical evaluations to pinpoint the issues he dealt with in the Lesnar bout, which saw the mammoth heavyweight’s power and cardio zapped as the first round closed. Carwin, appearing on MMAWeekly Radio after the fight, explained a condition called “lactic acidosis” that caused his problems against Lesnar and noted that it was something he wanted to fix before returning to the Octagon. “I have been spending a lot of time with (trainer) John Chamberg and have committed to following his crazy strength and conditioning routines,” Carwin wrote on his website on Tuesday. “I can barely walk when we are done working out so I guess that is a good sign.” Now healthy and back in the gym, Carwin is ready to make another run at the heavyweight title and it appears that will start on the first day of 2011. Good luck Shane RE: UFC - mitchell - 07-10-2010 19:36 Carwin v Nelson would be a top stand up fight resulting in someone getting seriously knocked out freezing cold!!! This match up is perfect i think it will happen even if it isn't on Jan 1st as 'Big Country' is a serious title contender even after his loss to dos Santos. RE: UFC - groundnpound - 07-10-2010 22:37 Yeah Mitchell! Glad to see Carwin on the comeback I love that guy!Should be a cracking match for as long as it lasts lol I think Shane will destroy him and go on to get revenge on Lesnar! That's what i hope will happen anyway RE: UFC - groundnpound - 09-10-2010 13:43 Took this from from Dan Hardy's website.Dan doin a bit of music shopping!Thought i'd stick it on here for you guys RE: UFC - mitchell - 09-10-2010 17:20 BREAKING NEWS UFC Primetime: Lesnar v Velasquez is on ESPN tonight at 22:00 & on Friday at 23:00, i'm not sure if Friday is a repeat or part 2??? & on Wednesday at 22:30 UFC Countdown to UFC 120. RE: UFC - mitchell - 10-10-2010 18:04 Nick Diaz vs KJ Noons strikeforce fight from last night, it's a good fight so i'll not give it away if you don't know the result. You may also wanna check out Arianny Celeste Playboy pics under the recent posts, it's not out yet but some dude has got a copy & took pics of the mag http://www.hookedonmma.com/nick-diaz-vs-kj-noons-2-fight-video/ RE: UFC - groundnpound - 10-10-2010 23:56 Cheers for that Mitchell enjoyed the fight lad!Quality scrap! Ugly eye on Diaz at the end looked like somethin from a horror film lol Can't wait to see more of those pics from Arianny...Damn!That girl is sweet RE: UFC - mitchell - 11-10-2010 00:28 Yeah a good standup fight, Diaz is gonna take some stopping at welterweight in Strikeforce, that uppercut from Noons was, as they say on the button yet it was Noons who ended up on the floor. He was behind on all the punch stats yet still got a clean sweep from the judges. I'd love to see him back in the UFC to take on GSP & Koscheck, they would be quality fights, maybe even Dan hardy, that would be a serious fight as you saw with Noons, Diaz a BBJ black belt still loves a tear up. I love him & his brother they're crazy!!! |
