They could, of course, agree then stall it forever and a day while they argue over the fine details.

Yes Cameron has already been on record as saying that he would never hold a country against their will so I'll give him some credit for that.

A big reason also in the Independence movement is really because of our distrust for the emergence of quite a few English based racist party's. In the 2010 Election we had the rise of the BNP Party to contend with and in the latest Election it was UKIP. Who can really blame the Scottish people for wanting to disassociate themselves with such anti Semitic agendas.

Also not to mention Labour losing all of their former values which love him or hate him former PM Tony Blair had instilled in the party and Gordon Brown to a lesser extent which left open only one option of trust and that was the Conservatives and its a sad sad day when they win with such an overwhelming majority knowing full well just how bad the next 5 years are going to be under them.

I really don't think anti-semitism was a major, significant part in either the BNP or UKIP agendas in recent years, and nor do I think that the scottish independance movement was in some way inspired by the rejection of any such anti-semitism.
Maybe things are different north of the border, and antisemitism is a bigger issue, but I find your suggestion really quite bizarre Smile

I cannot understand all this love for the Labour party, they are responsible for the mess we are in. Their record in office is truly appalling, among their most notable achievements, they started the privatisation of the NHS, they presided over the south staffs scandal, they lied to the country so they could illegally invade another country and turned the world into a war zone, they sold off the country's gold reserves on the cheap, deregulated the banks, allowed millions of people into the country and made no provisions for them, their councils are responsible for allowing child abuse on an industrial scale, they ruined the education system by dumbing down exams, on three occasions they promised a eu referendum and then reneged each time, they are equally as guilty of fiddling expenses as everybody else. They are just as bad as the tories.

If UKIP are racist and / or Anti Semitic, why did Richard Desmond (who is Jewish) give them £1 million? Huh

RE: General Election Vote - lancealot790 - 11-05-2015 00:09

UKIP are nowhere near as bad as the press makes out, the other parties are far worse, their indiscretions just don't get the same publicity due to the mainstream press having their own political allegiances.

I'm pushed to see where dissaffected voters in England and Scotland will go.
Constituancy boundaries changes will be to the benefit of the Tories. So there could be no viable voting option to either the Torys or the SNP in Scotland.
