As Scottishbloke mentioned earlier, if the Babe channels brought legal proceedings against Ofcom then I think you would see some drastic changes that would occur. As far as I can see at this moment in time, the only way to stop Ofcom are by legal proceedings, however there might be another possibility, in which the coalition government, cuts Ofcoms budget, whether that will happen is anyone's guess, but the way the the current government is cutting everything they can get there hands on, it might not be as far fetched as we all may think.

Bring back John Major, he didn't give a fuck what was on the telly bladewave he was too busy saving the world in his other job as Superman Big Grin Incase nobody understood the comment, he was well known to have a likeness for Clark Kent and ofcourse his love of peas if anybody watched Spitting Image back in the 90's, a great decade for television before Ofcom arrived on the scene as their predecessor ITC only monitored the mainstream channels and also didn't give a fuck either what porn was available on SKY TV Tongue

RE: Petition - Money_Shot - 30-10-2011 22:52

Oh how I've missed Spitting Image!!!! They'd have had a fair few things to say about the useless kunts that have driven this country into deep into a shit hole!

RE: Petition - Scottishbloke - 30-10-2011 23:00

Back in the 90's Channel 4 used to air TFI Friday Live at 6PM that was before this infamous Shaun Ryder interview landed them in a lot of hot water with Ofcom's predecessor ITC in which they ordered the show afterwords to be prerecorded to avoid such future occurances taking place, Oh how I miss the 90's, back when censorship was applied sensibly and kids most likely were watching the show at this time so the regulating and decision taken against Channel 4 was in all honesty at the time fair and proper Cool http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mgPnTUkJqA

Lol Quality Scottishbloke, however you have a raised a good point, as you've pointed out the ITC really didn't care what SKY was dishing out. It's only when Ofcom came into being that things have been going down the pan.
One thing I wanted to ask you? How did Ofcom come into force in the first place?

RE: Petition - Scottishbloke - 30-10-2011 23:06

All the information can be found here about the history of Ofkunt http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ofcom

RE: Petition - Money_Shot - 30-10-2011 23:13

Thank you Scottish bloke for rolling back the years with the TFI Friday clip. Imagine a show like that these days!! Just wouldn't happen....

Those really were the days!

Spot on. In no other area do Ofcom reverse the process and look for rules to justify repression.

The same organisation writes the rules, investigates, decides guilt (innocence isnt an option) and decides the punishment. Because they wrote the rules they cant see the difference between what they meant when they wrote the rules, and what the rules actually say. They made up their mind when they wrote the rules, before the shows were even broadcast. The Law Lords had to leave the House of Lords and set up a Supreme Court at a cost of £200 Million to avoid exactly that kind of conflict. Youre right, its a kangeroo court.

Not exactly. Governments gave them the power to enforce generally accepted standards for protection against harm and offence, but they seem to be going beyond that. The standards they enforce are routinely breached by family newspapers, controls exist to protect children from harm and offence has never been proved.

RE: Petition - Scottishbloke - 30-10-2011 23:19

The 90's really was the decade as SKY broadcast on the same 19.2 degree satelite as the rest of Europe so it wasn't as easy for the ITC to dominate the erotic channels as Ofcom do at present down to the many loopholes that existed back then so they did the easy thing and simply just turned a blind eye to it, you could get hardcore german porn back in the days, nobody talked about it, it was no big deal, just part and parcel of the liberated 90's where anything went. How Tony Blair fucked that up to no end.

RE: Petition - Money_Shot - 30-10-2011 23:19

The thing that gets me is these MP's. They shit like you and I, so surely when they have been sat up watching TV with the wife and she heads up stairs for a bath or whatever, they must get the Sky remote and flick through the babe channels for a cheeky Thomas Tank and think "These aren't what they used to be"

I know people will say if you want porn log on the computer, but sometimes even firing up the laptop can be a pain in the arse, sometime you want just a bit of action on the TV and the babe channels used to offer that.
