The fat lady has just finished her warm up and is making her way to the stage in regard to the women's championship. The men's still pretty open. One of four if you include Wawarinka. RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Mellow - 07-07-2015 13:19 Novak Djokovic has come back from 2 sets down to beat Kevin Anderson 6-7 6-7 6-1 6-4 7-5 RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Snooks - 07-07-2015 16:07 Azarenka 5-2 up first set . Surely it won't last or will it? Azarenka has a dire record against Serena too. I think pretty much everyone does . RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Snooks - 07-07-2015 17:47 Predictably it didn't last. Although Azarenka won the first set all it did was fire up Serena and through the gears she went to steamroll her way back to a 3-6 6-2 6-3 win. I feel sorry for Sharapova already. She is going to get absolutely massacred again . The Serena match up is a disaster for the Russian. The American is too strong, too quick and way way too good. Bye bye Maria . RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - setter1000 - 07-07-2015 18:16 The fat lady is now on stage clearing her throat waiting to sing. Bookmakers seem to share my sentiments. Best odds for Serena to win the championship @4-9 Makes the 8-11 odds I was offered for her to beat Watson when 0-3 and two breaks Down seem a bargain. RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - mikedafc - 07-07-2015 23:30 Well done to Jamie Murray and John Peers who are through to the semi finals of men's doubles at Wimbledon RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - mikedafc - 08-07-2015 15:53 Murray and Federer through in straight sets to set up a semi final meeting on Friday Djokovic and Gasquet will meet in other semi RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - lovebabes56 - 08-07-2015 21:16 I know Murray beat Federer for the Gold medal at the Olympics in 2012 but I expect it o be very close this time, but I think Federer has been playing just that little bit more better than Murray. I think Novak will be way too good for Gaqsuet so I do expect to se a Federer V Djokovic final RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Snooks - 08-07-2015 21:28 Ladies semi finals tomorrow. Muguruza v Radwanska is a very interesting match. Tough to call. Radwanska has reached the final before so experience favours her. But Muguruza is the bright new talent of ladies tennis so it will be very intriguing. The other semi final is a bit of a waste of time and I suspect a foregone conclusion in my view. Serena will be all over Sharapova from the first shot. Would be surprised if it lasted even an hour. I would love to be wrong as a Sharapova fan but I just cannot see any hope for her at all. |
