RE: Europe, Referendum & Brexit (formerly Europe..IN or OUT??) - Jack the Nipper - 15-05-2019 14:46 ^In a nutshell The Brexit Party runs on the same fools errand (as you call it) that any other political party before it stands on hot air & bullshit (as you say). Because all parties (& I mean all parties) no matter which side they lean on politically will say things & promises that they hope to draw voters in or get them into a whiff of power only to renege on their promises & pledges when it becomes reality (Lib dems 2010?).If Manifesto pledges were set in Law rather than used as merely a false ambition or pipe-dream to dupe voters then perhaps we may get a bit more trust back in politics ,politicians & Election turnouts might actually be higher than the 50-60% it tends to be. As I mentioned in a previous post I'll be lending my vote to The Brexit Party on the EU Elections (that we never should be having) not because I'm suddenly a converted Farage supporter but purely as a protest vote because I'm pretty much appalled not just by the Governments complete ineptitude in the Brexit negotiations but by the House of Commons & its representatives ie politicians & various parties who never have accepted & respected the largest democratic vote ever & try to thwart things at every turn.I'm appalled by MP's that supposedly represent Leave voting constituencies standing on Manifesto Pledges to respect the Brexit result that explicitly stated leaving the Single Market & Customs Union but once voted in disregard their constituencies wishes by wanting to remain in the EU displaying elements of both ignorance & arrogance (because they know better than the voters).Better still MP's that have the gall to leave the party that helped them gain a seat in the Commons & join a protest party & have the temerity of calling 2nd Referendums but don't follow their convictions by offering their constituents the same grace is frankly a piss-take.My protest vote is a means of focusing minds of MP's,stopping the dithering, get Brexit sorted & leave the EU. And yes The Brexit Party is a one-trick-pony,a one policy party like ChangeUK where in reality both offer no other purpose than serving as a protest vote.Where in essence protest parties can promise the moon-on-a-stick when in reality they will never be in a position of power to implement their policies, not at until when they are called to form part of a coalition. The truth is when these 'protest parties' manage to take enough voters from to the main two parties it breaks up the two party system makes hung-parliaments & coalitions likely which any Government hates. And so you cannot blame parties for looking over their shoulder at the protest parties given the structure & nature of a 2 party first-past-the-post voting system. Staunch Remainers from all sides (MP's,media commentators, voters etc) used the Local Council Election results as a bell-weather as a Remain in the EU vote (wrongly in my opinion as it was mainly about Council issues).Of which parties like the Lib Dems & the Green Party who made the most council-seat gains (even though the votes took place in parts of the country)saw it as a reason to trumpet that the country now supports remaining in the EU.These EU Elections next week will be a lot more relevent to public attitude over leaving/remaining in the EU considering votes are taking place across the whole of the UK (& not just part of it like the Councils) where consistent media polls suggest the Brexit Party is on around 34%+ & parties like Lib Dems are on around 13%,Greens 10% & ChangeUK 4%.And to see the panic & desperation in Tony Blair's series of interviews where he is literally begging Remain supporters to come out in their droves & support a Remain party only inspires me more to go out & vote on the 23rd May & encourage people I know who voted for Brexit to do likewise. RE: Europe, Referendum & Brexit (formerly Europe..IN or OUT??) - cwpussylover - 15-05-2019 14:51 if Blair got cancer it would be fair for that kunt RE: Europe, Referendum & Brexit (formerly Europe..IN or OUT??) - lovebabes56 - 16-05-2019 06:31 ^Yet he was bloody urging Labour voters to vote for other Remain candidates, so that outs him as having no confidence in Corbyn's leadership and he's become a far bigger cunt in doing so. RE: Europe, Referendum & Brexit (formerly Europe..IN or OUT??) - GMach1 - 16-05-2019 19:45 Boris is going to throw his hat into the leadership ring-oh really? Who'd have thought it? RE: Europe, Referendum & Brexit (formerly Europe..IN or OUT??) - lovebabes56 - 16-05-2019 20:10 Thought he said he wasn't interested at one point... RE: Europe, Referendum & Brexit (formerly Europe..IN or OUT??) - The Silent Majority - 16-05-2019 21:51 Anybody who thinks May resigning will somehow magically fix Brexit is in cloud cuckoo land. RE: Europe, Referendum & Brexit (formerly Europe..IN or OUT??) - lovebabes56 - 17-05-2019 07:29 I wonder how many elections we might have, PM'S forming government and then resigning BEFORE Brexit is finished. i never expect May's resignation to fix it, I wonder if it should been dealt with as a cross party/Parliamentary issue from the very beginning. FFS woman, take long look at your situation, before you blame someone else! |
