Going to go off topic from the last posts.
How does babestation get away with advertising xtreme on bs1,bs xtra and blue.
Was looking at the rules thread and in one of eccles posts regarding Ofcom rules on advertising the adverts should be relevant to the show thats broadcasting and that no adverts should be broadcast if its for porn R18 or equivalent material.
Xtreme is not a phone in show so there is no relevance in my eyes and is a porn channel.
Just wondering how they get away with it.

Could be wrong, Gibbs, but I think it's because Xtreme requires some form of age verification I presume.

So people keep saying, but I'm not having a single word of that theory. I think it's nonsense and simply not the case. If it were true, Babestation could put on the kind of shows that would pretty much put the competition out of business - so why don't they?

RE: New Ofcom Rules - mr mystery - 03-12-2011 16:36

All the adverts for BS Xtreme that are shown on unencrypted live phone line channels with the Teleshopping Ofcom licenced has surprised me a bit as well , i didn't think this type of fairly explicit content was allowed under the new Teleshopping rules , some of the adverts are quite explicit although never full frontal , G/G action is shown with plenty of nipple kissing and sucking , B/G scenes are shown were it's quite clear they are fucking , these adverts are also shown on Freeview Ch 94 after 12am , this channel has neither a Dutch licence or later goes encrypted , so not sure how they get away with showing this content on live premium rate phone line shows , for some reason Ofcom allow short free to air adverts to to be shown on the encrypted Sky and freeview channels such as Playboy and TVX/Red Hot because the channels don't have a live premium rate Phone line Teleshopping licence , they must have some sort of adult encryption licence if there is such a thing . So like i say i don't know how BS get away with showing what they do on freeview Ch 94 , the equivalent channel on Sky (906) is the channel with Dutch non Ofcom Teleshopping licence .

Dont remember the post, but I suspect it was about rules for ordinary 'editorial' shows. For the past year babeshows have been classified as teleshopping, and that gives allows unlimited advertising. What a teleshopping show cannot do is advertise R18 or have proper shows - yes, if the babes ever stop waggling those phones Ofcom can make them.

The UK channels are allowed to broadcast 18 strength material but not R18. As Xtreme is not R18 it can be advertised after 10pm.

If Xtreme a porn channel? Depends what you mean by porn. Richard Desmond is on record as saying he has never sold porn. If by porn you mean pornography, as defined in the Obscene Publications Act, then he has never sold porn. But if you mean sexually explicit but legal content like on TVX then Xtreme is a porn channel.

(In case anyone is confused by that, Xtreme is not connected to dishy Desmond or TVX. Just thought the contradictions about TVX were relevant: http://tabloid-watch.blogspot.com/2011/06/owner-of-television-x-denies-hes-porn.html )
