Moores has become England head coach for the second time - this is unique. He is also in charge of all three formats - no longer a different coach for ODI's and T20.

Apparently Paul Fabrace is being lined up as Moore's assistant.

I guess the nearest for me is Middlesex even though I'm from Hertfordshire

According to Paul Downton - the ECB General Manager - KP will never play for England again. No real surprise by that statement.

No real surprise about KP especially with the Moores appointment.

I read that the IPL is under investigation by an Indian judge for alleged illicit betting on matches. I seem to recall similar allegations were raised about the conduct of the IPL last year, and the year before that. bladewave

Nottinghamshire's Mick Newell is to replace Ashley Giles as a member of the England selection panel, after Giles decided he didn't want to continue with the role.

Captain Glen Chapple - who is now 40 and has been a Lancashire stalwart for over two decades - will take control of Lancashire for the rest of the 2014 season following the departure of Peter Moores who has become England head coach. This means, presumably, he'll be acting as player coach.

Wirral Cricket Club were bowled out for 3 yesterday (including 2 leg byes) and the Cheshire League Division Three team received notoriety on Twitter after users started sharing an image of the scorecard. The club itself took the result in good spirits, tweeting: “lost by 105 runs today... Sadly the opposition only scored 108!” Other clubs in the league questioned the result, tweeting the winners Haslington to ask if the scorecard was real.
